I like the boots because you can walk on the shore where rocks, seashells, and hot sand and you feel like you wearing sneakers. But the drawback is there is too much space in the toe area when diving in colder water your toes will go numb. I suggest to layer on hot socks or get Mares 3mm socks if your like me, when your feet get cold it becomes a unpleasant dive. But other than that if you want cheap boots they aren't bad. But remember that you have to have a wide mouth fin for these boots. They do not fit standard fins so keep that in mind!

I do a lot of walking on the seafloor so it is nice to have a thick soled booty to protect my feet.

Well constructed, high quality with a very firm, stiff sole. Be aware that wide exterior dimension of sole does not fin in the ScubaPro Jet Fin. (ie. Men's size 11 to wide for ScubaPro Jet fin size XL). The width of the sole will not fit into toe box of fin. This boot does fit Mares Quatro Fins. Boot has firm, high arch.
