Popularly known as The Cozumel Wreck", the Felipe Xicoténcatl, or C-53, is one of the most popular wrecks and dive sites in Mexico. The Felipe Xicoténcatl was a US-built Admirable-class minesweeper formerly known as the USS Scuffle. The USS Scuffle was decomissioned in 1962, and sold to the Mexican Navy, where she was renamed ARM General Felipe Xicoténcatl. She was decommissioned from the Mexican Navy in 1999, and donated to become a reef that very same year.
