Questions about this item:
kyu hyun L i'm 5.7fit height, 36.2 inch chest, 33inch waist, 150lb weight.
am i S size or M size? which one is better for me?
STEPHEN C I have a small, it's snug but not tight. I'm 5'8" athletic build. 42" chest, 30" waist, 160 lbs.
BENJAMIN S I am 5'7", 140 lbs, and I fit best in a ML after trying the M.
DANIEL B Since you want it to be snug, I would try small first. You can always exchange if it doesn't fit.
jason b I am 5'9 165 and have a 5mm in small. It fits, but is tight, might fit you slightly better. I also have a 7mm in small, way too tight, any thicker than 5mm, go up, with 5mm, it's sort of a crap shoot.
Hope this helps.
TULLY R I'm 5 ft 9in, 40 inch chest, 34 in waist, 174lb and use a large. You might be a medium. Probably have to order both and return one.
Shopper Is this or other wetsuits in general's 2XL or 3XL cut to the shape of people with more chest muscle or stomach muscle? All my muscle growth seems to be in the stomach along with a muscular love handle. Will the cut of these wetsuit constrain me like those body shaper girdles?
Maybe I have to go with some other brands that has 4XL or 5XL?
Monica s There is a size chart that you can click on to get weight, hight, chest and waist measurement with this chart you should be able to determine your size. In terms of fitting wetsuits is order to be effective need to fit very snug.
Shopper Since this and other type of suits are super stretchy, does that mean a XXL size will still fit when I become XXXL and maybe XXXXL?
ANTHONY S I bought an XL Short. I'm 5'10". about 208lbs and it fits extremely well. Though it does strech, I'm not too sure that an XXL would be all that comfortable or effective if a XXXL or XXXXL tried to wear it. You still need that layer of water between the body and suit to be effective and you want to be able to dive comfortably.
It will stretch enough to allow you to gain some weight. It is a great suit and I'm sure you would be very happy with it.
MICHAEL S I would say no. Proper fit for best performance. This is of course my own opinion.
MARK S No! buy your size. even though they are stretchy, as your body size gets bigger you will have a hard to putting it on.
DONALD G I would not plan on it. These wet suits are slightlly small to true to size. I don't know of any wet suit that will stretch to those limits.
JOHN S No. It isn't that stretchy
jason b If your XXXL & want to try a XXL, you will probably be able to get it on, question is will it be too tight to be comfortable.?
I am a medium, I wear the Small 5mm X-span and it is snug but not uncomfortable, I also have a small 7mm but it is too tight & I cannot breath in it (but I can get it on).
I don't think 2 sizes is a good idea to even try.
I hope this helps.
RICHARD E No. Just means that you can don and doff, and move arms and legs, more easily than in a less stretchy suit.
JOHN H no.
buy the size you wear, and watch your calories.
these are meant to be snug from the begining to reduce water exchange. changing body weight by more than 15 pounds will effect your size.
if your size does change, they are super affordable, and you can purchase the next size up.
good luck.
john c is this suit warm for 45-50 degree water, and this shows boots with it are they sealed and stretch at ankle?
SCOTT S I have never been in water at 45-50 degrees with this suit, but it is very warm down to 60 degrees and it is a very comfortable fitting suit that has great flexibility (X-span).
ANITA G I find it cold. I wear a hood/gloves with it, and probably would wear more as the water gets colder, but I also get cold easily. As for the boots. You need to buy boots separately. I bought the Henderson stretch to go with them instead of the neosport, and the boots are great. The suit is very comfy and soft.
JORGE R I would recommend the 7mm for water that cold I have dove 58-60 degree water with it and I was fine but last time I was at my local quarry in some 55 degree water I froze. Yes the ankles do stretch not much but they do. It's a very good suit I love mine it fits true to size
CLIFFORD M I'm a warm water diver and can get cold easily if I'm not moving a lot. I bought the 5mm for drift diving in Cozumel (Feb -2010). Water temps were in the upper 70's(F) and we spent ~ an hour/dive. I didn't wear any hood or gloves and was plenty warm. Other divers wore 5mm too or shorties or vests. I thought 40/50F dives would need a dry suit or one of the new semi-dry suits unless its a very short dive.
The X-Span is a very compliant/stretchy material that with the taper cut was snug against my wrists and ankles. the neoprene material is the same throughout the body and the extremities and is finished off with a rolled sewed seam (no special seals). My boots (not part of the jumpsuit) fit over the top of the jump suit fitted cuff.
I make a mistake and bought an XL (I'm 5-10 and 180#) and the suit trapped a bit too much air so I had a couple of buoyancy issues. Overall I liked the suit and wish I'd bought a large as it would not have been too tight and binding anywhere. Note: The knee covers are a very thin top layer of a more solid material that can get scuffed fairly easily;. It made getting the suit on easy since it didn't bind like some suits with hard plastic knee protector's.
STEVEN K You need a dry suit for that kind of water temp. Not even a 7.5mm would help you. No these do not come with boots.
DONALD G I have used this suit for dives into the mid to high 60s. The legs are stretched without zippers. The dives, 6, were comfortable at these temperatures. However, I am a warm water dive and have not been exposed to the 45-50 degree water.
KIMBERLEY M It will be ok for 65 on up but for 55 and below it will be too cold. If we scuba in water 60 degrees we usually haves 3 mil on our core for extra warmth along with boots and hood. It is a great suit.
DAVID S NO this is a 5mm wetsuit. Unless you don't mind being chilly/cold I would not use it in 45-50 degree water. You need a 7mm. Also..... NO boots come with this wetsuit. Boots usually only come with DRYSUITS.
RICHARD E A 5 mm suit is *not* sufficiently warm for 4o5-50o water.
Boots are not included.
JOHN S No. You'll need at least 7mm for those temps. In actuality, a dry suit or semi-dry would be better. The 5mm jumpsuit does not come with booties.
DAVE H no, this suit is not suitable for any water colder than 60F in my opinion. The boots are not attached and in fact are not included with the suit.
it is a fine suit for temperate water of 60-75F, but the water you are talking about (45-50F) is best dived with a 6.5mm or a dry suit.
JOSE M I have never dived at those temperatures with this suit.. Having said that, it is a great suit for temperatures 60 to 75 degrees. It has great elasticity and fits true to size. They seal pretty well at the ankle, but does not have the double layers like some of the better suits (Scubapro). In my opinion, if you will be diving below 60 degrees you might want to condider a 7 mil or maybe drysuit.
Hope this helps!!
CAROL L My husband uses his wetsuit once a week from May - October in the Chesapeake. He has not complained about warmth or lack of. He has not complained about fit. BUT he is not pleased with the durability. His last wetsuit lasted over ten years. This one is already coming apart around the neck after two years.
jason b NO, this is only 5mm, only good to about 65 degrees depending on how how easy you get cold. It does not come with boots.
I also have a 7mm, & it is warm enough for me @ 55-60 degrees
RICHARD M Great suit, great fit at a great price. Boots don?t come with it, legs are open at the end. But the legs do overlay boots well for a good seal. I?ve been in 54 degree water with this suit (about 20 minutes) along with a 5mm hood, boots and gloves and I was cold. This isn?t enough suit for 45-50 degree water. Go 7mm or better yet get a dry suit if that?s what you dive in all the time.
