Barbara B The baby is 11 months old. I need something to maintain his body temp. Is this what I'm looking for?
KEN G This is a good wet suit for toddlers, however I'm not sure they have one small enough for an 11 month old.
PAUL S It will really depend on the air and water temp in which you plan to use the suit. Our three year old used it in New England to help him stay warm when water temps were in the seventies and air was in the 80's. Helped quite a bit, but he still got cold after a while! Hope this helps!
WARREN B If you can get one small enough it should help. I got one for my 6 year old and she loves it. She says she stays much warmer when swimming in the pool.
JAMIE M We purchased this to help with the same issue. It did help our daughter, she still did get cold but she was able to playing the water much longer than without it.
MEGAN H We found this suit to be helpful in maintaining our son's temperature (he has Dravet syndrome and has difficulty moderating his own temp).
DAVID R It does that. Not sure there would be one that fit though. My daughter is 6 and wears a size 4 in this. She is small, but wears a 5-6 in clothes. It also depends on the water temp you are in. We live in South Florida and will wear our shorties when the water temp is between 75-80. It does not keep you dry but allows for a thin layer of water between the body and suit which the body then has a chance to warm with body heat.
VERONICA A I bought the Neo Sport Shorty form my then 5 y/o twins. We used them with great success snorkeling in the Bahamas (warm water and warm air). At 2 mm I wouldn't count on it for significant insulation in cooler water or air. It provides good skin protection and just enough bouyancy.
SUSAN G I bought this for my daughter to snorkel in the ocean for protection. 2 mm suits will keep a child much warmer than a swim suit only. It does not restrict their movement.
WILLIAM D Assuming that this is for the baby to wear while in the water, then the answer is yes. The suit needs to fit snugly so that there isn't a lot of water flowing between the neoprene and the baby's skin. Otherwise, he/she will not get any significant benefit from wearing it.
Will S This is what I bought for my 3yo son for that exact same reason. Children have less muscle mass, so they get colder quicker. I can say that I have had a great experience with this shorty. You will have to check the size chart, might want to try the smallest one, at least he can grow into it, but you want it to be snug for the best performance.
