Shopper I am a women's size 10, what size am I in fins? Are the pink different size since they are women's ?

CHRISTOPHER S They both seem to fit the same as a shoe size. I would order the same as your running shoe size. My girlfriends were the same as her shoe size.

BRAD C Hi, I wear a size 9.5 men's shoe (and 10 booty). When I wear a booty I use the large size fine, and when I wear my dry suit with boots then I use my x-large fine. If, I wear the x-large fins with booties then the fins are too large I have to take the adjustment straps as much as I can (dry suit boot fits fine). With the large fin, the end of the fin comes about mid way to the ball of my heal with booties. Hope this helps.

MARCIO C I`m sorry about your question, I`m a man and live in Brazil, I don`t know about american number for shoes and no idea to convert to fins. I can let you know my experience with these fins during diving. I bought it on dec, 2009 and I`ve diving with these fins since then, very good balance between performance and power, the lock system is very good for diving, very easy to remove before enter on the boat after a diving.. I replace the straps for springs when start the Rescue diver trainning, it`s totally compatible and now is very quick to insert or remove the fns.

KRISTIN A I wear women's 8.5 - 9 and have the pink ones. I have small fins and with the boots they work wonderful

PAM A I wear shoe size 6 1/2 so I wear Xsmall fins. Just use the size chart to make sure you get the correct size.

DEB B I like these fins, my third pair; I have given 2 pair away to divemasters in remote areas... I wear a woman 8.5 or 39 and I have a size S. They are roomy. Apparently they are men's sizes. Do not know about the pink.

KYLE O They should be the same size as your regular shoes. They are fully adjustable with the rear straps so maybe go a little bigger if you are worried. Depending on the thickness or your boots will also depend how how much bigger to go. Always go a little bigger and you can adjust with the straps. Hope this helps, all sizes are the same regardless of color.

LeisurePro S Both the excell fins are made from a different material than the avanti quatro. It's more elastic and gives you feeling of hinged spring fins without an actual hinge. Both excells also have ABS buckles, which allow unbuckling with just the touch of a button.The Excell plus has a redesigned foot pocket, a bit wider and with a rubber heel pad for more comfort.

Whats in the box:Pair of Fins

The Mares Excel+ is the perfect combination of comfort and power for recreational divers. The fin uses tri-material construction is made of Tecraclene (Techno-Polymers) and thermoplastic rubber: blade with four channels for optimizing water flow, the center channel is inverted to make better use of the glide stroke. The upper and lower stabilizers help maximize muscle energy conversion.

Tecraclene ribs in the foot pocket afford an improved fit and permit more efficient transmission of the kicking action. The foot pocket delivers maximum power and evenly distributes pressure over the foot to minimize fatigue. The foot pocket interior features internal ribbing that improves fit, eliminates foot suction and prevents foot pocket flexing, while transmitting more power to the blade.

The elastic Optimized Pivot Blade (OPB) system ensures that the blade is always at an optimal angle during both the upward and downward strokes, giving considerably increased efficiency. A combination of materials and geometry designed to achieve an OPB without apparent hinge points, the elastic OPB causes the blade to flex at an optimal angle during the upward and downward strokes increasing the efficiency of the kicks. All effort is translated into a positive easy thrust.

The Excel + uses Mares patented design ABS Plus Buckles (Adjustable Binding System). It only takes one quick movement to easily open or close these buckles, even when wearing thick neoprene gloves. The double button release prevents the buckles from accidentally opening making them the most user friendly system on the market.

Fin comes in four colors and four sizes, has an overall length between 22.2" to 24.8" (56.5 to 67 cm) depending on size. Fins weigh between 2.9 lbs to 6.2 lbs (1.23 kg to 2.8 kg) and come with a 24 month limited warranty.

These are the stiffest mares fins by far. On the plus side they give a lot of thrust when frog-kicking, comparable in feel to jetfins/slipstream (but more comfortable). Helicopter turns are ok, reverse swim is possible but not easy. If you're a big/stocky dude and you're pushing heavy gear through current, then they're perfect. If not then the classic Quattro is a better choice, IMHO; cheaper, less foot and ankle stress, more maneuverable, and still plenty of power.

I have no comment on the complicated mares buckles because I installed spring straps straight away when I bought them. I wear a US 11.5 and the regular size fits perfect with 5mm boot. Stiffness generates a lot of pressure on top of the foot; I wouldn't want to try the original version with the half plastic foot pocket top. Still, more comfortable and better fit than oms slipstream or jets.

I find these fins add a lot of stress to the ankle and foot. I am a tall slim guy and I find that these fins actually cup and move too much water vertically as opposed to generating forward power. Because these fins move so much water they actually tend to move you around if you're slim.

If you're a bigger person and like a REALLY stiff fin then this in the one for you. Otherwise, I'd be looking at other fins.

I have used this quattro excel, avanti X3, and Quattro Plus. So I hope this review is useful to buyers

First off, this fin has a great look underwater, easy to notice if you are a dive leader.

Secondly, it pushes you through water as well as the rest I have. Only thing is that the foot pocket is shorter than the others, and that tends to put stress on my calf to a significant compared to other two. However, it gives to most powerful frog kick out of the three. All in all it resulted in the highest air consumption of all three for me.

Thirdly, its the heaviest of all three. Not as heavy as rubber jet fins, but heavy enough for a travel concern.

if you want to spend money on a looker that yields an uncompromised performance, this is the one. But if you seek a more comfortable choice, get the X3 or Quattro Plus

just got back from Maui. dove molokini and turtle town for three days. the fins are really good. strong side rails you can really get good trust forward with less leg motion. some are saying that the fins are too stiff, i found them to be perfect for scuba and they work fine for snorkeling too. we did a couple days at kapalua bay and napali with the turtles and had a ball, the fins were fine.

if you have an older pair of excels then the buckle is " snappy " a little stiff. but the newer pairs have a buckle assy. thats different. two small grey buttons you squeeze and the assy. comes apart. i got the pinks for my wife and just got the blue for myself. great fins
