Shopper What bands would make this gun stronger?
Michael C In order to make this gun stronger you would need bands that are either shorter or thicker than what you have right now. The slings that come with this gun are 9/16in x 16in. So either get something thicker like a 5/8in sling, or you could get a shorter band, like a 14in sling.

Shopper Does this gun penetrate well? Can this gun go through a grouper grouper? If not than what small gun can?
JACOB B I got a through and through shot on an 18lbs grouper in a hole at a distance of 3 feet from the end of the gun.
Also got a good shot through a trigger fish. They have tough hides.
There is good penetration power in the range of the cord that comes with this gun. If you are going to add a longer cord I would recommend adding a spear with a second notch and another band. Or just learn to stalk your prey better.
MOISES S My son shot about four grouper last summer, its a good gun.
CORY H Given my experience with this gun i would recommend purchasing a sharper speartip. Its a great small reef gun for hogs and snapper but i would only plan on hitting the smallest of grouper. Easy reload. Great size. Accurate.

ARISTOTELES S Well, depends on the grouper's size. This gun works pretty well for small medium size fish (15-30 inches) but for larger fish it may disappoint you. I've killed 6-7 pounds snappers at relatively close range with it, but a 10 pounds barracuda laughed at me when I shoot it, the shaft just didn't get through. For large fish I prefer pneumatic guns.
ADRIAN R Ive seen people lad gruper with it. Ive missed a pretty large grouper and very large mutton because of penetration. If you upgrade the bands you should be fine. If not go with a riffe euro 90 or a cressi comanche 90. I prefer woods guns but the railguns get the job done aswell. Good luck!

JACOB B If you get a 3 tooth shaft and extra bands, yes. You may also want to get a longer shaft retention cord and/or a reel.
JAMES G TAKE THAT BACK- Please ignore my prior comment, I got this confused with my Omer, this shaft only has two teeth/fins. Only supports two bands. Sorry!!!
JAMES G The shaft does have 3 teeth/fins to support three bands, but on the end, it only has ports for two bands. Not sure how to insert a 3rd, I dont think you can.
ERIC D the band slot on this gun is big enough for three bands if you can a short enough shaft. the shock cords are interchangeable so if you put three bands on it you could increase range. i was going to make mine a three band gun but couldnt find a shaft that was short and had three slots.
ROBERT B Not necessary to use three bands, packs a good punch with 2 . 3 bands too much for smaller gun
CORY H I already own the gun but It has been deflected by some small hogs and snappers. I was wondering if there was a way to prevent that in the future..

Shopper can this gun hold 2 3/4.in bands and is shock line included?
Monica s The manufacturer recommends 9/16" but you can most likely to 3/4" ok. Yes shockline is included.

Sometimes we miss a fish or we shoot a large fish and the recoil or fight of the animal can pull the gun out of your grip, which ever the case make sure you always use a gun equipped with a shock line.
