MIKE F Sorry about the late reply. Assuming you're using the original shaft that came with the gun, you will need the 6mm threaded tips.
Regarding the reel, if you want specifics I don't have any. All depends on how much you want to spend for the features. I haven't used one. My dive buddy had one that was basic and it was nice. I personally never had any reason to get one.
