Underwater Safaris is a PADI Gold Palm Instructor development Center Resort Facility with a record for safety unequaled by any other organization. The dive boats are U.S. Coast Guard inspected driven by a licensed captain, and all instructors are PADI-trained with years of experience leading both certified and non-certified divers.

On St. Croix, we were the guests of Cane Bay Dive Shop, dive St. Croix when you want to. Scheduled and unscheduled dives go out daily. Cain Bay's standard dive shop hours are 8 am to 7 PM, seven days a week. Upon request, we can do anything from sunrise dives to full moon midnight dives. In St. John we dove with Cruz Bay Watersports and were guests of the Westin Resort & Villas. Cruz Bay Watersports is a multi-faceted water-sports and SCUBA diving operation since 1982. The resort offers 174 guestrooms in 6 two-story buildings close to the pool or the beach, and 7 three-story buildings on a hillside overlooking Great Cruz Bay and the Caribbean Sea.

The Virgin Islands were explored by Columbus in 1493. They were originally inhabited by the Carib Indians. Since 1666, England has held six of the main islands, the remaining three (St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John), as well as about 50 islets, were acquired by Denmark, which named them the Danish West Indies. In 1917, these islands were purchased by the U.S. for $25 million dollars. Congress granted U.S. citizenship to Virgin Islanders in 1927.

Tourism is the primary economic activity. Here we dive the reefs, walls, wrecks and encounter the marine life. Topside in St. Thomas we tour the capital city, Charlotte Amalie, and the surrounding countryside. In St. Croix we are there forCarnival, and tour the Whim Plantation Museum, made up of 18th century buildings from this former sugar estate. We tour a Rum factory and the island's countryside, and witness the start of an official Ironman Race.In St. John we tour downtown Cruzbay the Annenberg sugar mills, drive along the white sand beaches and tour the green hills and rainforest.
