AARON D This DVD is OK, but honestly, the videos at gosidemount.com are of better quality, more interesting overall and free.
CASEY C I did. Funky music and good footage. Great little DVD.
Eight cave diving films were shot over a two year period in Mexico, this DVD features footage from those dives into Sistema Sac Aktun, the famous Grand Cenote to the highly decorated CuzanNa loop Calimba with it's tight winding passages and the dark and mysterious downstream section to the Twister restriction, an experience of claustrophobic proportions. A chronicle from a dive into the surreal multicolored waters and hypnotic halo clines of Mayan Blue's B tunnel. A dive to the majestic upstream sections of Chan-Hol with the notorious field of giant contorted decorations and through rarely seen side passages and sections to the lesser known enigmatic downstream beehive section. A journey from Cenote Jailhouse through a massive void of dark tannic stained decorations to the grandiose Yaxbe saltwater tunnel. Product Videos: Popular searches that include this item:cave diver

Preferred by most divers for its General Comfort, the 1" (2.5 cm) Wide Crotch Strap is Ideal for Fastening a Harness and Back Plate Securely to a Diver's Body. By using a Crotch Strap, divers can reduce the likelihood of their Gear Slipping Upwards on the Body in the Water, resulting in the Tank Hitting the back of the head during a dive. Nylon Webbing provides Strength with 2,200 lbs (998 kg) of Tensile Strength, yet is soft and won't dig into the body. The 1" x 38" (2.5 x 96... more

Dry cavers were using directional markers long before there were any cave divers. The early cave divers in Florida saw the benefit of these markers, and Lewis Holzendorf came up with the idea of folding a triangle of tape around the line to form an arrow. These tape arrows were called "Dorf" markers, in Lewis' honor. There were a couple of problems with tape arrows, however - they slid along the line and were difficult to feel in a silt-out. Cave Diving pioneer Sheck Exley asked fellow diver Forrest Wilson to lead a discussion group at a NSS workshop... more

In the early days of cave diving, reels were not available to buy off the shelf.Divers used anything they could, including empty electrical wire spools. When exploring, divers would pay out the line and if they didn't empty the spool it would be left in the cave for the next dive. Cave diving pioneer, Woody Jasper, used a medical tape spool with cover to hold that short length of safety line. Today, our 50-foot Finger Spool is most often used as a gap reel or for short distance exploration. Small and low-profile, a spool fits nicely out of the way in a pocket or clipped off to a D-ring... more

This large diver's reel comes with 250 ft. nylon 2mm line, has a corrosion resistant aluminum anodized frame, spring loaded slide gate clip, and drag system.
