Welcome to colorful, picturesque Curaçao, the ABC Netherland Antilles, the threeislands made up of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. The island of Curaçao was discovered in 1499 by Alonso de Ojeda, one of Columbus's lieutenants. The inhabitants were Indians of huge physical proportions therefore aptly called "Isla de los Gigantes" or (Islands of the Giants). Within 20 years, the name Curaçao appeared on a Portuguese map. The island remained Spanish until the Dutch conquered it in 1643.

We fly from Miami to Curaçao for the eight day tour of one of the most colorful islands ever. All the buildings on the island are painted in bright pastel colors, giving the towns and country side a vibrant coloration. It's a cruise ship destination, bringing travelers in from around the world to visit its historic UNESCO town center and top side attractions such as the Seaquarium, Dolphin Academy and the Kura Hulanda Natural History Museum, loads of shopping, and various island tours.

Our dive host is Ocean Encounters Diving, a PADI 5 IDC dive resort. The hotels we'll be visiting are Lions Dive Beach Resort, the Curaçao Hilton, and Super Clubs Breezes Curaçao. Just a short swim from shore, Curaçao's coast is lined with spectacular world class diving in crystal clear water, including walls, reefs, and shipwrecks teaming with fish and covered in vibrant coral. We will make dives on Mushroom Forest, Superior Producer, the Dolphin Boat Dive, and many other world renowned sites by boat. Sit back now as we present to you the tropical island of Curaçao.
