Questions about this item:
Warren J Good day to you
I would like to enquire about having lenses installed into a big eyes evolution mask, my vision is as follows
Left Eye
I use a Bausch & Lomb Pure Vision Lens PWR 2.25
Right Eye
I use a Bausch & Lomb Pure Vision Lens Pure Vision Toric SPH -1.25 / CYL -1.25 / AX 188 / BC 8.7
I would like to order the mask and have the correct prescription installed in line with your suggestion< if I order the mask will the lenses be fitted into the unit?
Thanking you
Warren
Frank L These lenses do not correct for astigmatism, only the first part of the Rx.
We can install them, just make a note on the order to install lenses. there is a $10 charge.
Shopper I'm a little confused-what should I order? Under correct? Over correct? or is this not good for me?
OD -0.50 -3.00x 015
OS -1.75 -2.50x165
Frank L It does not correct for astigmatism. You should go down, the water provides some magnification.
So order the -1.50 for OS, and no lense for the OD.
Shopper Hello,
I have a astigmatism. Would this work for me? I'm not sure if a astigmatism is taken into account when fitting lenses or glasses.Thank You
CLAUDINE F I am not sure, as I do not have an astigmatism. You may have to ask your eye doctor about it.
Sorry I could not be more helpful.
ROBERTO B I have some astigmatism and use constantly progressive lenses on daily activities, I used big eyes with corrective lenses for snorkeling activities and I am very satisfied with it.....
best regards
rb
RANDALL B I do too. Be sure to get a copy of your prescription and order the appropriate lense for each eye. As your eyes change, you may need to order new lenses. I hope that this helps. Happy diving!
TA-CHIEH H I have a pair of these lens on my mask as well. and as a diver with near-sightness and astigmatism, I think these lens helped me see better underwater, as well as above water when I'm not wearing my glasses.
Granted that these lens won't help you with astigmatism, they do help you see better with correction on the near-sightness. So overall they would help. Obviously this also depends on how bad your astigmatism is, of course.
CONRAD E An astigmatism is not taken into account with stock lenses, but you may not need it corrected if its not so bad. If you absolutely need an astigmatism corrected, then you can order custom prescription lenses. I got mine at Prescription Dive Masks in California.
JAMES A I have a astigmatism. They seem to work for me. My problem was, my distance vision was a little poor. My prescription is -1.00 Right eye and -2.00 Left eye. I also occasionally use reading glasses but very mild.
My main concern was, could I read my dive computer with these lenses? It was difficult to read it out of the water. I was pleased to find when in the water I could see the computer almost like I had 20/20 vision. I found the reason for being able to see the small items in the water without bifocals was due to the water magnification. I am happy with the lenses and mask.
ROGER M I too have a slight astigmatism and the lenses in my Big Eyes mask seem to correct that for me.
Shopper Hello,
I have a astigmatism. Would this work for me?
SHELLEY G Yes, I have astigmatism in both eyes and they worked perfectly! On land they will not be crystal clear but underwater they are flawless. I am so glad I purchased them, I actually prefer this over wearing contacts when diving.
MICHELE G Yes, my husband says it helps a lot with clarity. He would recommend them.
PETER M I have an astigmatism also and these lenses work great for me.
PEYTCHO P Hi, if the astigmatism is high , more than 0.5 will not be perfect. If you want to know exactly go to eye doctor and see how you will see without astigmatism correction, only with your regular correction! Good luck!
MARY M Yes! Just use the base number of your prescription to choose the lenses and ignore the astigmatism adjustments. Once you're underwater the water also has magnifying properties and you will see just fine.
BOB M I have the same and a big prescription -5, while not perfect it worked great and i could see almost perfectly underwater
GUSTAVO G I do not think they have correction for astigmatism. I am far sighted and have astigmatism but only have correction for myopia on the mask (works fairly alright). Perhaps they can be special ordered so maybe it would be wise to contact Cressi.
JAMES A I have a astigmatism. They seem to work for me. My problem was, my distance vision was a little poor. My prescription is -1.00 Right eye and -2.00 Left eye. I also occasionally use reading glasses but very mild.

DAVID S No. You need custom lenses. But a mask and then send it to leonard Maggiore for lenses. He invented the process and is the expert. Google for his address in Brooklyn.
Shopper Where is the video on replacing these lenses someone mentioned before?. I have been trying to replace them, I got them of the frame easily but putting them back on, oh gosh, it's been hard, I havent been able to do it yet! help
SNO-RUNNER.COM 1 You have to find someone with really strong hands, It takes a lot of force to get the retainer clicked back into place. It was with all my strength to do it and I have large strong hands to do it. It even took me a couple of trys. I hope this helps. Walt
WILLIAM S Call Cressi USA. I realized how hard it was to put the lenses in, too. I sent the mask and lenses to Cressi USA and had them put them in -- they said it wasn't easy to do -- and they didn't have instructions to give customers. According to Cressi USA, Leisure Pro is not supposed to sell the lenses uninstalled.
BRIAN T It took some serious effort to get the lens into a place where the frame would clip back in place. I assume the pressure is what keeps the water out. You may have to find someone with a little more hand strength to get the frame back together.
RANDALL B I've not seen a video. I have two Cressi masks, and I have changed the lenses out of both. Changing the lenses is fairly tricky, but well worth the effort. I am pleased with both of my masks. As I recall, at the top of the nose, there is a triangular piece that has a tab underneath. I seem to recall that I had to hold the tab down with a flat tipped screwdriver to get it to snap into place. Keep working with it, you'll figure it out. You've already done the hard part.
Val P Hi, I got the video from L.P. customer service so try that. The video looks easy but it took me a good hour to get them in and I got stress cracks in the thin plastic at the nose (center) area. I went thru a lot of e mails to L.P. and Cressi and finaly was able to send everything to Cressi for assembly with a new snap ring. If you damage the snap ring L.P. dosen't have replacements and Cressi won't send you one. That being said the video dosen't show the slots above the nose piece 1 on each side. I believe you should slide the 2 tabs up into the nose piece slots first then work the 2 tabs on the left side into their slots and then the right side. You have to work the frame material back with your thumb as you slide the tabs into the slots on each side. When I did it all of a sudden they went in. Maybe try a hair dryer. If you try that don;t get it too hot as it might get brittle if it gets too hot. Maybe you should take it to a Cressi dealer and offer to pay to have him put it in as i;m sure Cressi would send him a replacement if he broke it. I don't think L.P. should sell these lens as its too hard to put them in. I bought -1 lens and don't think they make a lot of difference for me. maybe a -1.5 or -2 would have helped me more. good luck.
DAVID S Even though I ran a dive shop for ten years and changed hundreds of lenses, I could not do this one. I broke my frame and threw the entire thing out in frustration. Shame on leisurepro for not assembling them before shipment. Good luck assembling them. I'd call, complain, and send them back for assembly.
PETER M It is extremely difficult to insert the corrective lenses. I returned the lenses to Leisure Pro and for a small fee they did it for me. Well worth it.
Arian H I wanted to buy a pair of these and the Cressi Big Eyes Evolution mask. Do you guys install the lens? How easy is it to install? seems like conflicting information here, one guys says its easy, most others here say its hard.
JAMES A I installed my own. I think Cressi has a video on there site. Be aware, these are medium difficult to install. If you are very careful you can do it. Make sure you find specific instruction before you try. If you make a mistake you may damage you mask.
Fred A If the mask and lenses are ordered online, how does one have them installed by LeasurePro? I see the comment above about installing them for $10.00
ALEX P I can`t say, that installation of Cressi Big Eeys Evo lens is a piece of cake. But I did it myself after 10 minutes of torments. If You have hard plastic screwdriver, like Tusa, it will be very helpfull.
THOMAS W Changing the lens is not hard, it just takes a little effort to safely remove the lens retainer in front of the lens by gently snapping the retaining tabs out of the mask frame.
STEPHEN M I purchased the corrective lenses and installed them myself. The procedure is actually quite easy. They even have a short video on their website to show how. Literally a five minute job, just pop out the frame, remove old lens, place new lens and snap frame back in place. the issue I ran into was that the corrective lens was slightly thicker than the original, and I had a lot of difficulty getting the frame to reseat with the corrective lens. It snapped back into place easily with the original lens, which was thinner.
CHARLES B I received the mask with the lenses pre-installed. Great mask! Have it done so you don;t have to find out if it's hard or not.
CLAUDINE F Hi,
I bought the Big Eyes mask and lenses, and it is difficult to get them in, true, but with a little arm muscle and perseverance, it is worth the effort
It is hard because of the thickness of the corrective lenses as opposed to just regular glass. When they are properly installed, they are completely watertight, absolutely no leaks.
I used my mask this past summer in the Atlantic Ocean and did some U/W photos and video....the mask was fantastic and I could see everything with perfect clarity.
It is worth the effort!
David R We can install them for $10.00 you see above all the feedback on it
JOSEPH G You should definitely have them (Leisure Pro) install them. I didn't and I ended up taking them to a dive shop to have a professional do it. It's only easy if you've done it before and know exactly what to do. Once installed they're great. Best mask I've ever had and the corrective lens has released me from wearing contacts under water.
WILLIAM S It's very hard -- and you can damage the lenses and mask easily. I bought mine from LeisurePro uninstalled and it came with no directions, and when I called Customer Service, they sent directions for another brand. So I called Cressi USA. They said that no one except themselves and a few specially trained dive shops (which includes LeisurePro) are supposed to install them, and they said that LeisurePro is not supposed to be selling them uninstalled. Cressi does the installation for most dive shops, as it is tricky, especially for stronger corrections. I sent the mask and lenses to Cressi USA and they did it for me (and I had to pay shipping both ways).
So don't let anyone talk you into doing it yourself. If you damage anything, it'll be on you. Pay LeisurePro to do it.
MICHAEL K I ordered the Cressi Big Eyes Evolution Mask and the corrective lenses. My correction is pretty big so the corrective lenses were a lot thicker than the lenses that come in the mask. Rather than risk damaging the mask or lenses I took them to my local dive shop and they swapped the lenses for me at no cost. I watched as they made the swap and it did take some effort - it was not easy.
JASON K Leisurepro will install them and it is very easy. I am on my second pair. First one was installed in my old Cressi mask in front of me about 15 years ago and I finally upgraded to big eyes last year. They can do it while you wait if they are not too busy. You may want to get a slightly weaker rx (by about 1/2).
DAVID S They did not install the lenses. With a -4.0 diopter I found it impossible to install them myself, and I had owned a dive shop for years and have installed hundreds of other lenses over the years. I broke the frame trying and ended up throwing the entire thing away. I was surprised that it was not shipped ready to dive. Not recommended for purchase.
RANDALL B I own two Cressi masks. I installed corrective lenses in both masks. It took me a long time to find instructions on-line. Changing out the lenses was not intuitive. I was successful, but these were not easy projects. There are several tabs that must be manipulated with a narrow and thin tool. I used a knife, but that may not be the best tool for the job. You have to be careful not to ruin the retaining rim around the lenses. I like my masks, but I did not enjoy installing the corrective lenses. With that said, I would not hesitate to buy another Cressi mask.
MARIA M It was hard for me. I was afraid I'd break the frame. It would be nice if they would install it for you.
DERIN K You need to install them yourself. I had a dive gear shop in Turkey to install them for me. When they are done, they never failed and worked just fine. Installing them can be tricky. I am very handy yet I did not want to touch them. The whole thing, lenses and the mask looks fragile. It does not also come with an instruction manual. I would have bought disposable eye lenses. I heard they work just fine.
GUSTAVO G Ridiculously difficult. I could not, ruining the mask in the process. Then, after buying another mask, my dealer would not dare. They finally sent the mask to Cressi so they would fit the lens. Do the same.
Shopper Do these lenses fir the Cressi Big Eyes mask? I understand that they fit the Evolution mask but wondered if they are the same size and shape as the regular Big Eyes Mask.
WILLIAM S I'm not sure -- call a LeisurePro salesperson and ask them. Be sure to get LeisurePro to install the lenses. It is not easy to do this yourself. I didn't know this, and received the mask and lenses uninstalled, and NO instructions to install them. I called LeisurePro and they sent instructions for another brand. Then I called Cressi USA, and they said only specially trained dive shops (of which LeisurePro is one) are supposed to install them. They said it was easy to damage lenses and mask trying to install them if you are not experienced doing it. They were kind enough to let me send them the mask and lenses and they installed them. It took time and I had to pay shipping. They said LeisurePro should not be selling the mask with the lenses uninstalled.
PEYTCHO P I do not have Big Eyes Mask to answer your question. On the Evolution mask they fit perfect. Sorry
CHRIS C Yes, they fit both.
JASON P If you go to the Cressi web site at http://www.cressi.it you will notice that n the masks section the Cressi Big Eyes Evo takes prescription/optical lenses but their own web site does not mention that they make lenses for the Big Eyes.
So, in short, no. The lenses only fit the Big Eyes Evolution.
CLAUDINE F Hi,
I have the Big Eyes Evolution mask and bought lenses specifically for that. I would go to Cressi's website to double check that these lenses will fit the regular Big Eyes mask. I can't tell from looking at the picture here if they will fit the frame exactly. The corrective lenses fit VERY tightly into the Evolution mask I bought, and it is a fantastic mask! Probably the best I have ever owned over the last 15 years.
Hope that helps!
Shannon H I need a -0.75 in the Left and -1.25 in the right. What do I do?
RAYMOND J I would just order the closest rx for each eye and go from there. The lens are quite easy to install.
WILLIAM S Call the sales people at LeisurePro and ask them. If you buy from them, make sure that they install the lenses. They shipped me the lenses uninstalled. I called them for instructions for how to do it and they sent me instructions for another brand of mask. I called Cressi USA and they said installing lens on the Evolution is tricky and they usually do it and not dive shops. They said a few dive shops like LeisurePro have been trained to do the installation, and the dive shops are not supposed to ship the mask with the lens uninstalled.
CLAIRE M I would order -1 for both. Seems close enough. Alternatively I would order -1 for the right and leave the original lens in for the L. It depends if you are concerned about over correcting for the L lens. Under correction will make it so your eyes still have to work and everything may not be 100% crystal clear. An over correction may alter what your prescription is by training you eyes to appreciate a more focused correction. A correction of .25 is relatively insignificant. I did not experience my prescription changing from using a mask that was .25 too strong in one eye and .25 too weak in another.
TIMOTHY D each lens is sold separately - when I bought mine I got one -5.5 and one -6. I did find they were much tighter to install than the non corrective lens. It took a LOT of pressure to "snap" the frame over the corrective lenses. whereas the non corrective just needed medium pressure.
DERIN K These require installing on the mask. It is a lot of work. If I were you I would wear disposable lenses.
JASON K I have been using Cressi rx for almost 20 yrs. Just bought the new big eyes after my very old mask started to leak. Since water magnifies I went for a slightly weaker rx for the lens. I highly recommend this brand for corrective lenses and suggest you test them out in the store first keeping in mind that underwater they will be stronger.
CLAUDINE F Hi,
I would order the 1.0 for the .75, and the 1.5 for the 1.25. Your vision is different with the mask on, and the distance of the lens from your face makes rounding up .25 diopter the better choice. By the way, it is an amazing mask, and the lenses are fantastic.
I am really happy with mine; I have been scuba diving and teaching for over 15 years, and it is the best mask I have had so far.
Hope this helps.
Claudine
DONNEY B Shannon,
Cressi makes corrective lenses from -1 through -6 in .5 increments. The corrective lenses are sold individually, so you can get the proper lens for each eye. Your specific prescription is not available. If I were you, I'd go to a optometrist to test how well a -1 corrective lens works with your left eye and whether a -1 or -1.5 works better in the right eye. Also, for your left eye, consider that your vision is pretty good and you may want to stay with the standard lens. One more thing,if you difficulty reading your gauges underwater, you may want to consider purchasing corrective inserts.
LINDA T In April I purchased -3.00 for both eyes and took the lenses and mask to a local dive shop to have them inserted. But what I really needed was +3.00lens for one eye and +2.75 for the other and also needed bifocal lenses to boot. So, If I did need '-' instead of '+', I would have settled for being a bit off for one of the lenses.
So, last week I sent my snorkel mask to a shop in Mesa, CA to have custom ground lenses inserted for my upcoming cruise. It arrived Thursday and I can see perfectly with these lenses.
MARIA M Sorry for the multiple answers, I thought I was still editing but every one was submitted. Leisure Pro, please delete the first three.
MARIA M Because the water already has a magnification effect, I under corrected by about -0.5. It depends on what you are comfortable with. See if you can get Leisure Pro to install the corrective lenses as I had a hard time doing that myself.

MARIA M I would undercorrect by about 0.5. It depends on what you're comfortable with. Your precription is so low, I might not even get corrective lenses if it were me.
