JOSEPH R No. I rubber is not that soft in the nose and mouth area. In fact, putting your regulator into the mouth piece I had to use a little KY JELLY to get it to seat. Once it did it worked well. Great vision with this mask!!!!! P.S. I use my mask to prospect gold with. I have it hooked to a T80 air compressor

HART T Yes, good question. It takes a little work but once you get it in there and use it, you'll see that it's a very comfortable way to dive. Just cut the adjustable tie off from around the mouthpiece, insert your regulator pipe thru the hole, and then from the inside of the mask put the mouthpeice back on around the sleave and pipe with a new tie and you're ready to dive. If you have difficulty just take it over to the dive shop and have them to it for a few bucks knowing that it will be done right the first time for safety sake and peace of mind. DENNIS W Take mouth piece off put in mast then take a zip tie put on out side and titen it then your good to go

FRED W I removed the mouthpiece, passed the metal (or Plastic) part of the regulator thru the opening, then stretched the original rubber mouthpiece over both inside the mask. Then carefully secure with an appropiately sized electrical zap strap. Cut the end of the zap and trim off carefully so that the cut end does not chafe the inside of the mask.

GARY C It's been a few years. But I believe you take the a mouth piece off the Regulator And fit regulator to the mask. The mask was nice. But if you Knock your mask off you lost your regulator. I was doing salvage diving and I stopped using it.

HART T Since you don't know the first thing about one of these masks, or what kind of diving they're used for, I think you would be much be better off sticking with a regular sport diving mask. I used this mask up in Alaska for working dives in very cold water and could clear my ears easily like most masks by simply squeezing off my nostrils in the nose pocket provided for that purpose. The full face mask is mainly used for warmth like in ice diving, for tec diving, for u/w communication, or with built in regulator without a mouthpiece. Most sport diving does not require this type of mask at all. So become proficient with your basic diving gear before you even begin thinking about graduating up to one of these and then have a purpose for using this type of gear.

FRED W I generally don't have any problem clearing my ears, but if needed I can usually pich my nose right thru the face mask. If wearing 3 finger mitts (cold dives) use your index fingers on both hands at the same time to pinch your nose.

HART T I used this Cressi full face mask in Alaska, California, and Washington with a Poseidon regulator. I'm not sure if your Sherwood Magnum would fit or not without seeing it. But you have to have a regulator that you can remove the mouthpiece, place the bare intake into the hole, and then attach the mouthpiece onto the inside of the reg intake so that you can clamp down on it and breath with your mask strapped down good. A full face mask is very comfortable and it gets a good seal around a hood that covers most of your face. It kind of puts you into a distinctive class all your own seperate from the rest of the sport divers because origionally it was only used by science divers and is also an offshoot of the DESCO Mask used by commercial divers. And this mask does take older type regulators.

JOE B Clearing this mask is the same as any mask, there is a little rubber tab at the bottom of the chin, you just pull it down a little and exhale. As far as using a safety second stage you would have to remove the full face mask and use the safety without a mask on, not fun but it can be done safely. JOHN P The skills of switching to a safe second and clearing a mask are taught in a basic scuba course. The skills taught (and needed) should be well rehearsed. The removal of this mask, in order to switch to a safe second will leave you without a mask. You should try this mask yourself and your concerns can be taken care of in short order with a little time spent in practice. confined water, pool or tub,

CARL W I have used this mask for 5 years. You clear it the same as a regular mask. There is no way to swap it under water because the regulator is attached to the mask. You would have to remove the whole mask to go to your second stage not good.

BRIAN W Have never had enough water get into mask to need to clear. Could be cleared though through regulator. Secondary use requires mask to come off.

EFRAIN L It could work. You would have to stick a snorkel through the mouth hole and ensure that you engage the mouth piece in your mouth. Otherwise the added volume of the mask would make it difficult to draw air. As far as it's protective qualities I use this mask with a Poseidon regulator for light commercial dive use in not so pristine waters. I am very satisfied with it.

DAN S I don't think that would work well (unless you swim laps with a scuba tank and a regulator.) The hole for the regulator (at least when I wear it) isn't flush with my mouth, and there isn't a way to articulate it closed.

DAVID E The short answer to your question is no. The Cressi Full Face Rubber Mask was designed to be used by the scuba diver in any, but especially cold water environments. I first used it along with countless other commercial divers over thirty years ago. It is the most light weight, versatile full face mask we had encountered and remains so to this day! It is low volume, high visibility, and features an easy-to-equalize molded nose piece, and seals to the face or neoprene hood. It's "spider strap" allows for 'easy on'; 'easy off'. The molded mouth piece extends inward, receiving the regulator mouth piece of all brands, forming an absolute water tight seal! This is a remarkable feature, because it secures the regulator, eliminating mouth and jaw fatigue. I would not recommend it to be used swimming laps, whether in a pool, or at the beach. The unique molded mouthpiece which extends inward, is not designed to interface with, or seal to, your mouth. You would experience immediate flooding into the mask, rendering it ineffective. I would recommend you check out the many "swim goggles" at Leisure Pro. That would protect your eyes. For skin protection, you should seek the advise of a dermatologist, who would be able to recommend a water proof, protective skin cream. For scuba, the Cressi Full Face Rubber Mask is without a doubt, the finest full face mask in it's class for the price tag!

EDWARD G If your swimming laps when you turn your head to the right or left to get a breath - there would be a gap between the forward edge of your mouth and the mask- hence water would constantly fill the mask.

DAN S You can remove the mouth piece from the regulator and inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth (unless you have a very large nose) which will make the mask fog-free (cool dry air from the tank circulates to your nose, and you exhale through the regulator exhaust.) I used this mask for a number of months in that configuration to avoid stress on my jaw after jaw surgery (and I still use it because it clears easily and doesn't fog up on me.)
