Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
COLIN R Other reviews said it was a great mask - they were right!
Shopper How does this work with small faces? I've never found any mask that doesn't leak.. wonder will this also be big for me
MERRY S It was too big for my face so it leaked all the time. Hope that halps you.
DENNIS H Both my wife and I bought the Cressi Big Eyes Evolution Mask. Her face is small and mine is medium. The masks fit both of us perfectly. These are the best masks I've ever seen. I've been diving since 1972.
MICHAEL S Fits great for a medium to large size face...hard to answer your question....it is such a great mask that it may be worth trying and returning if too large..
ALICE B I have a fairly small face and have chosen this mask twice because it does not leak. It is the best fit I've found and I ve been diving a long time.
LINDA H I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I wouldn't recommend these goggles for a small face. I bought these after reading great reviews in a scuba magazine, tried them out in a pool, and took them diving. Spent the entire dive dumping water out of the goggles. Gave them to my husband to try (who has a much larger face) and they leaked for him as well. I guard my no name goggles for my small face with my life!
Marilyn S This mask is suitable for larger faces much to big for a smaller face
The Cressi Eyes Evolution Crystal Mask Clear Skirt SKU: CSBMEEC
(minus the "big") is for smaller faces and should fit you well.
ADAM T I am about average size and i like the mask and think it fits well. the latex material is very soft and allows for some forgiveness with sizing, but i'm not sure how small it will go.
i'll put it on a 10 year old boy tomorrow and report back.
Shopper Where is there a video on how to change lenses?
Rich D Cressi have a video on their web site on the process. I followed along and found it quite easy, it is uncomplicated but getting the parts to snap together can take a few tries.
ART R Dont know. I worked with my local optometrist to fit the mask with prescription lenses.
WILLIAM S According to Cressi USA, only trained dive shops are supposed to change the lenses. I bought the mask with the lenses separately thinking it would be easily. I'm mechanically inclined but it looked tricky and didn't come with any instructions (written or otherwise), so I phoned Cressi USA. They said it was easy to damage the lenses and mask changing them since it was hard to do, especially for thicker lenses (strong corrections). So I ended up sending the mask and lenses to Cressi USA and they put them in for me. I recommend having Leisure Pro do it -- so if they mess it up, it'll be their problem.
Shopper I currently have a diopter in my mask to read gauges. Eyes have gone to the point where I need to have corrective lense in my mask. I wear progressive lense now. Does this mask accept progressive lense or would two different lenses (bifocal style) be installed?
THOMAS S I am in the process of getting bifocals but don't have an answer yet. Got my prescription but haven't gone to the shop yet. Sorry
SHARON M I have used this mask for almost ten years, with corrective lenses installed, and love it.
Each of my lenses is one large lens (because of the shape of the Big Eyes they can be BIG!), a regular bifocal lens with a line in it. They are not two different lenses. Be sure your optician orders lenses that mimic the shape of the Big Eyes - if they make lenses that are "eyeglass shape", you will lose a lot of useful viewing area! Your should end up with large, teardrop shaped, lenses.
This works great for me. There is so much area to this mask, you have more than adequate space for each prescription...sort of like being able to read a book and watch tv at the same time.
After over 500 dives, this mask is holding up well. I can see my gauges, tiny 1/8" critters and the spots on eagle rays in the distance. When I finally need a new mask, I will get the same one again!
RICHARD R I do not know. Sorry I unable to help.
Shopper I love this mask..good fit..light weight..but i am having terrible fogging up...what is the best way to take care of this?...dont want to use anything on the a mask that i should not
FOREX C Try baby shampoo diluted with fresh water -- i put it in a small dropper bottle, like the ones used for eye drops. There are also commercial anti-fog solutions that you can buy but the shampoo solution works for me and this mask :-)
KANITTA K My answer applies to all masks, not only the brand referred to:
Try rubbing (very) diluted baby shampoo on the glasses, then leaving the shampoo on for a minute or so and then rinsing in sea (or clear) water.
For me, I also spit on the glasses, then rub it all over & rinse, before using (and whenever the mask fogs up).
DENNIS B Hello,
my first question is have you throughly cleaned the mask before you used it as silicone residue on the mask will cause the mask to fog. After purchase, I use toothpaste on my masks to clean them. Then rinse throughly.
When diving I use a comerically available defogger before each dive. My dives are on the the West Coast in Northern California. Wataer temps 47 to 54 degrees
WIL K I was taught to always scrub a new mask with an old toothbrush and toothpaste (both sides of mask) and rinse thoroughly. After that, regular defogger will work fine. Mine works fine.
WILLIAM M Fogging is an issue when the mask has not been properly cleaned on first use. Throughly(!) clean with a non abrasive tooth paste. Before ALL dives scrub with a little(!) baby shampoo (tears free) and water - dump but do not rinse. If the mask still fogs it is because you are exhaling through your nose which you are prone to do with a low volume, light weight mask.
MITCHELL H Hi - i started by gently scrubbing the inside with toothpaste before using and typically every few months. For each dive I use a generous amount of spit on the inside. Also, a trick I learned is to dunk my head in the water without the mask on before a dive to lower the temperature of my face before I go under.
DAVID S first thing to do with a new mask is clean/scrub the inside of the lense with toothpaste using your finger to rub on the lense, or you could use JAWS Scrub mask cleaner. Then when you go diving apply as per instructions on the bottle Maask anti fog such as JAWS Spit anti fog or Sea Gold anti fog. This should do it. Still need to know how to clear your mask under water.
CRAIG T I use the old fashioned spit in the mask method and
have had no issues with fogging, great mask with fantastic visibility!
NICK F Use a regular toothpaste (not a gel) to clean the lenses, inside and out. Do it twice, rinsing well after each cleaning. I used Colgate but any regular (usually white) toothpaste would work. I have not had a problem with fogging in water temps as low as 53 degrees.
ALLEN M You may have a film on the mask. Take some toothpase and toothbrush and scrub the inside of the mask. Then rinse thoroughly with very hot water.
I recommend ONLY using spit in your mask. I have personally had bad luck with Anti-Fog products causing bad fogging. They build up a film. Spit does not build up a film and always works great. Try it and you will see.
RICHARD R I love this mask too. I did the normal toothpaste break in when I first got it, but I also had a fogging issue. My dive master in Mexico told me to use Johnson's baby soap before each dive. I drop a few drops in the mask let it sit for 2-5 minutes then rinse. I do this before every single dive. It's worked perfect so far. lf you don't want to carry a big bottle of shampoo buy a small travel container and just put shampoo in it. I did. It also fits perfect in my mask box so I'm not searching for it. It's an awesome mask. Good luck.
RONAN P Theres a thin film that covers the mask on both sides. Others heat them up with a lighter quickly just to take that film off. This am not sure but I did it anyway without damaging my lenses. I read in a diver magazine those sprays are useless. A baby shampoo is good they say and works well. For me saliva works like any other commercial product. The fogging is caused by the difference of your body heat and water temp so u actually have to periodically clear your mask.
