Myrna N what do you recommend for a woman who weighs 230 lbs?
ANGELA W It depends on how tall you are. I am 5'9" and weighed 270 when I bought this suit and it fit. The only thing is that being so tall made it a little tight in the shoulders. For this reason, I opted for the size 18 Bare Jane cut, which helped. I've since lost some weight (down to 225) and the suit is now starting to gap in places.
ART R I first ordered the 12+. It was cut VERY full in the hips. I returned it and ordered a 16. The 16 was much better. I usually wear a 12 pants and a 14 top. I probably could have worn a 14 but like the ease of putting on the larger suit. I last dove in this suit in Hawaii in February. I was perfect temperature wise and very comfortable

ROBERT T It depends on how cold natured you are, where you will be predominately diving, etc Also, the thicker the suit, the more bouyant you are. I am very cold natured and got thicker suits than my instructor recommended but was very happy with what I got.
As far as sizing, I am 150#, 5' 8" and the last full length suit I bought a size 12 which ended up being too big. It has been sitting in a closet since late winter.........

JACQUELINE L I can't even begin to guess.... I have the velocity in 3/2 and it fit like it was custom made for me. I thought, "great, now I can get it in 5/4 and will finally have a great fitting thick suit"". Nope. It was like it was cut for a completely different body type by a completely different manufacturer. I don't see any option but to try it on. BTW, be sure you are clear on LP's return policy....I wasn't (my bad) and it was accepted back as "a favor to a repeat customer"...and refunded, instead of exchanged. I wouldnt have minded an exchange except that there was no other suit I wanted.
COURTNEY H I found Leisure Pro's Bare size chart helpful and true to size. If your height/weight/measurements don't fall in line with their "off the rack" suits, I would recommend having one custom made for you. I have had dive buddies do this, and they are not as expensive as you would think. Use Google to find someone near you.

JANIS T Yes, I would need something warmer. I do like my suit. Very happy with it for a light suit.
STEPHEN S I think that you would need a thicker suit! The 5/4 would probably be good at about 68 degrees--maybe 65.
Steve S That depends on you. Some people are ok with a 5/4 or a 5. You may want to consider going up to a 7mm to stay warmer. I personally dive a 7mm from 45-70.
LOIS C In temperatures like 52-54, I wear a double 7mm, thick hood and gloves. I use the 5/4 when I am on a liveaboard (lots of diving) in water in the mid70s (like Cocos Island).
DEBORAH H This is a really great suit - food fit andcomfortable to dive in. However, 52 F is EXTREME diving & I recommend that you seek professional help on a suit if you decide to go forward with it. This is probably dry suit territory! If you want to do standard diving - then I would recommend this suit to anyone. Good luck!!
KATHERINE S I get cold very easily and have been wearing it in temperatures from 70f to 80f and have been very comfortable. I think that 52f to 54f is below the recommended temperature rating. Personally, I would need something much thicker for those tempertatures. I do love the suit, though! I took a trip recently and did about 12 dives in it and it was wonderful!
JUSTIN C I bought this for my wife. But from my own experience I am skinny. So I use a5/4 to stay warm in 60 degrees. And am fine.but hope it helps
PIERRE LUC J You'll need something thicker, at least a 7mm. Also for that water temp you'll need a hood, gloves and booties.
PETE W I would say thicker. I just finished diving with this in the Galapagos (57 degrees) and needed an additional wet suit. However I am use to diving in 80 + degree water. But everyone else on the trip was wearing at least a 7 mm suit plus a hood.

I'm answering this on behalf of my wife who i bought the suit for but all of the facts are correct for her.
EVAN L You will want something thicker. I would say 5/4 is perfect for anything temps between 67-80.
JOHN K This suit is great for 70+, but for water in the 50s I would go dry suit and the thought of a wet suit wouldn't enter my mind.
I've done 55 in a 7mm with a thick hood, gloves, and booties...and I was still really cold.
MARIA D I would recommend something thicker. This suit was great for me in water in the 70's, but 52-54 seems to be pushing it.
KIM C This suit has only been used in 80 degree water. My daughter was a bit warm in it. I have used a different brand 5/4/3 in warm water and been very comfortable. Good Luck.

SCOTT A Everyone is different so let's start with that. However, if it were me, I would use a 7mm farmer-john and a thick hood for 52-54F diving. For me, this 5/4 suit would be good for 70F and above.
EMILY C I'm a wuss when it comes to being cold. I love this wetsuit but the coldest temps I've been in with it is the 70s. I would need something warmer than this for the 50s but again I was the girl in a 5/4 in the Bahamas.
