Jen L I wear a size 5.5 in men's shoes. Should I get the size 5 or the size 6?
HAI L Hi this is hai. If you are man and wear 5.5 in man size than you should go with size 5 becuase you more control on you foot when the water get in side. Becuase when deep down on the water you don't want your shoe too loose.
CHRISTOPHER H I would get the 5. I think it would be better to have the fin snug against your foot than loose.
KRZYSZTOF B I would recommend 6.
JOHN T Buy the 6. And wear a pair of sock with a plastic bag over the sock, (inside the bootie). The plastic bag allows easy removal of your foot from the booties after exiting the water and doffing your exposure suit.
I use plastic bags from the produce dept. of my local grocer.
GERARD C My boots (11M) seem larger than an 11 would be in say a sneaker size. I have room to fit a 2mm titanium/neoprene sock inside the boot. My answer would be to get the size 5 if you want a tighter fit, the 6 if you want some room. I have no idea if the size mismatch runs through all the sizes though, so take my answer with a grain of salt.
JAMES F My shoe size ranges from 10-10.5 depending on brand. The boots I bought are size 10 and fit great. The bulk of my diving is free diving for abalone on the north coast of California. It typically involves a lot of hiking and climbing down and up cliffs to get to the good spots and these boots have held up great. I have been in 51 degree water for as much as two hours with these boots and did not get cold feet. Best of all the zippers stay closed.
