I'm in Yap right now and not quite sure of the question completely due to limited internet, but I think you wanted to know how heavy the sausage is? Well....its not light and especially when you add the reel to it! But I feel it's worth the wt to have the extra length and it's very convenient and safer to be able to use your octopus to inflate.

JAMES G you can, but it would not be my first choice for doing that. The connecting hook for this bag is plastic, and not really designed to take 30 lbs of weight. Very nice SMB by the way, but there are a lot of other ones with much heavier construction that are designed to hang weight off of.
