chris c I wear a women's size 8.5 shoe and want to use these inside my new size small Aqua Lung HotShot fins only because my next dive trip will be in cooler waters ... I would like the sock to be warm and comfortable yet still fit inside the fin pocket ... so do I order size small or medium?
JEAN M I wear a size seven shoe and found a small lavacore sock that fit very well, but it didn't seem to keep my feet any warmer. The lavacore socks were hard to get off and didn't dry very fast. I was diving in water around 75 and wasn't cold in a five mil. But I went back to my regular socks I wear under my booties and didn't notice any difference. I don't think lavacore is worth the money. MARITES M I wear a women's shoe size of 5, I bought a small Lavacore by Oceanic Socks. It was slightly big on me, but not by much. It kept me very warm. I think small will be too small for you.
TSE LYNN L I wear women's 7.5-8, and ordered a medium. It is not snug, but fits like a comfy sock (slightly loose). Using them with Medium Force Fins with narrow foot pockets so I'm not too worried about excess fabric.
ERIK W The only reference I can offer is that I wear men's fins size 9-10 and men's shoe size 10.5. I got a size medium lavacore sock and it works perfectly. I love this product. Hope this helps.
DOMINI Y I can't help with size question, but this is a good product with sufficient thickness to offer real protection. I had several different socks and I like this most. The stitches are in the right place unlike some other run right in the middle which makes uncomfortable when walk around on the deck of the boat.

I'm wearing the lavacore in a medium and it fits great.
You are right on the edge of their sizing chart. but I have noticed in this sock that the heel area is not as defined as scubapros. so I would think you would be OK in a Medium. I have let me friend use them and she does wear an 8.5 women's shoe. They fit OK for her, she does have a real high arch so they did fit her snuggly. as well but we both are wearing them with full boots. I love the lava core product.

Frank L You may want to consider a neoprene sock or even a boot with those fins. Medium would be the size for you.
Shopper Is their a sizing chart for these? What size for a Mens's 8 and a Women's 7?
ED G i'm a size 9-9.5 and i like the MD in the sock. these are great light weight botties and work w my full foot fins as well as open heel.
Shopper do the socks have a non-slip bottom?
JAMES J Yes. And it works. We just returned from a liveaboard trip and I used these. HOWEVER, the coating on the bottom of the socks wears quickly (IMHO): after about 40 dives, half of the coating had peeled off. I believe this was from using full-foot fins, not walking on the socks. Otherwise, the socks continued to function and are warm as advertised.

Shopper Would you recomend these to "tightened up" the fit of my molded dole boots?
STEVEN O If your molded "sole" boot is only slightly loose, then yes, these might do the trick. But, as the description states, they are quite thin. So if your boot is far too large, this will not work. I however used them with a molded sole 5mm boot that was only slightly loose and they were perfect to tighten up the fit (and to keep my feet warm in 50 degree water)
DAVID M My Lavacore socks are the best quality insulated socks I have ever owned. They fall between 3mm neoprene and lycra socks, material in lavacore is soft and easy to slip into and will allow anything to slip easily over them as well. The best thing about them is the way they are constructed with all seams in areas that allow for no irritation or pressure spots!

Shopper Will a Large fit size 13 feet (Mens)??
JEANNE K I have size 11 1/2 feet, and I found there is extra room in the toes. But to be safe for size 13 I would order extra large.

P A I wear a men's size 11 shoe and there was plenty of room, not a tight fit at all, very comfortable...best guess? a large would probably fit you.
Maybe a bit snug but they stretch. I wore mine inside a hard soled boot easily and they helped keep my feet warm (the reason I purchased them in the first place). Held up well to two weeks of three to four dives a day.

MARITES M I wear size 4 1/2 shoes. I ordered a small fearing it would be too big, but it was just right, maybe a little loose at the heel, but not much.
