Questions about this item:
Kwang-Su K hello
im 182.6cm & between 6' ~ 5' 11" , and weight 70kg & 154lbs, chest 100cm
can u advise for me, size s or m?
KEN H I am 5'10 and I weigh 200lbs very large shoulders and an extra large fits me great!
CHARLES T. K I would go with the larger size so you can wear an under garment such as a lava core suit for extra warmth if you wanted to dive in colder water
Fabricio F Hello,
1.- the front zipper is metalic or plastic material??.
2.- i' am 1,78 height and 110 cm chest and 88 kgs....the L size is good for me?....
Regards.
Fabricio
RICHARD J The zipper is plastic. And I would think that a LG would be a good fit for you.
J GREGORY C He zipper is plastic and you still need someone to finish or starting the zipper for you. Not sure about metric sizes you would have to refer to their chart. But great suit overall
Rafael K I'm 5'9", 170 lbs, waist 32"-33", chest 39"-40", hip 39"-40". I'm somewhat between sizes. It looks like I could either go for a Medium/Large or Medium. Would a Medum/Large fit me well? Since I live outside the U.S., I am not able to use the PPF program. Thank you.
RICHARD J If I was you I would go with a medium. I am 5'7", 230lbs, waist 37", chest 44" and i bought a XLG/SH. If you look at the Hollis size chart you will see I am way too fat for the size I bought but it fits me really well. It is tight around the stomach but i can breathe normally and the suit flexes more than enough for me to move comfortably. I have to say it takes a dive or two to get used to 8mm around your chest.
I would size the suit for your height / chest / waist / hip measurements and forget the weight, which means a medium for you. Also if the suit is too large then you might have more water inside stealing your body heat than you want.
Rafael K Thank you very much, RICHARD!
J GREGORY C I would go with the larger size. They are not cut very full like bare wetsuits. I had to size up on this one as well.
Rafael K I'd better go for Large. I appreciate your advice.
JESSICA M Definitely not a medium/ large. I bought it for my husband and he is 5'6" and 150 pounds, and a size 32 waist and the medium fits him and is very snug.
Rafael K Thank you for sharing your experience.
Shopper How is this product in cold water, have all hollis gear except a dry suite, there just a little costly, so looking to purchase a semi dry but being careful about my purchase. So is this a good deal for winter diving?
RICHARD J I dove last weekend in a lake here in Arizona with water temperature of 54. I was in or under the water for about 100 minutes before i started to get cold. I ended my last dive about 15 minutes later and that was the limit for me.
Michael C Semi dry suits will keep you warmer in colder waters. Exactly what temperature waters you can use it in is more based on what the divers tolerance is. Semi dry wetsuits are good for spring, summer, and fall diving in northern areas like New York and Canada. Ice diving might be too cold for the suit, but again that is mostly up to what temperature the diver can tolerate.
Shopper What is the the suite thickness? 8mm/7mm/6mm?
J GREGORY C Yes the core body part is 8mm and has a spine pad for warmth. The arms are a 7/6 mm blend where panels are sewn in. It's thinner behind knees and elbows and allows for easy movement. It also has a price that goes over your chest. Attached hood minimizes continuous water transfer inside the suit. This is my go to neoprene suit if I don't feel like using my drysuit. Also have a mares isotherm 6.5 and this is much nicer. Not cut real full so you might need to size up. I have done 50 min dives in 48-52 deg water and was not uncomfortable and I always get real cold. I wear rash guard shirt and bottoms for comfort. Pockets work great. Only complaint is you still need a second person to finish zipping the suit and that's minor!!
jesse j I'm looking for a size chart on this suit?
MEREDITH F I had the same problem. Go to the Bare website online and look at their size charts. I LOVE my Bare suits. I am 5'10.5", 148 lbs. and got a sz 16, which is ever so slightly sloppy but much more comfortable than too tight. You want to be able to breathe well and bend over easily. Very stretch great fabric with super water 'locks' on the wrist and ankle areas. I have been diving 20 years.
