Shopper Will I get an extra charge at the airport for it being to big?
RALPH C This bag has a total size of 62" L+W+H which is the limit for checked baggage for some airlines. Have used two of these each trip to Cozumel for the last 5 years once per year with no problem. They were more concerned with not exceeding allowable weight for class of ticket. Check your airline for allowable size and weight limit of bag for your class of ticket and destination to be sure.
DWAYNE D I have never used it to take dive gear on a plane. I would check the airline baggage restrictions tht you are flying.

MICHAEL J Not in front of me right now but I will tell you thet it will hold all my gear including boots wetsuit reg bag fins multiple masks in cases plus video equipment extra shoes and clothes etc. I love the bag. Huge pockets on the ends hold my warmers boots and mask cases no problem!!!
Chuck K can you carry this bag on an airplane? I'm looking for a bag to carry on a bcd, fins, maks, snorkel, boot, regulator. can I use this bag for carrying on this equipment?
FLEMING T But no its way too big. U would have to check it.
FLEMING T I just used it to haul 2 BC, 3 pair of fins, 3 masks, 2 pair neoprene boots, and some other misc stuff to Hawaii for a week of diving. I changed planes twice each way and my stuff was well protected no issues with zippers failing or material ripping or scuffing.

It is my personal belief that the bag would be too large for carry-on with most airlines.
It has been a good bag for me, nothing fancy just basic dive bag.

GREGORY H This is a huge bag,only way you're gonna carry it on an an airplane is if it's your own personal airplane.
MARK S I'm not sure, I haven't taken any flights with my gear. I think that the bag may be to large for a carry on, I would say that you would have to check the flight restictions to see what the exact carry on size limits are.

LINDY S Great for the belly of the plane but too large for a carry on. It holds all of my husband's scuba equipment (he is 6'2), with plenty of extra room. It is very large though.

Most airlines restrict carry-on bags to 22" x 9" x 14" or length + width + height to less than 45". If you pack this soft sided bag to stay under these restrictions you'll be able to carry it on. If you pack it full you'll be over the limit. This is a great SCUBA gear bag by the way.

WILLIAM R I used this bag to carry all of my dive gear on a recent trip to Dubai. It worked great. I packed all of my gear plus a few odds and ends that wouldn't fit in my suitcase. Plenty of room and held up fine.

PAUL S Most airlines specify 14x9x22 as largest size for a carry on bag, although they allow some leeway. If packed anywhere near full this bag would be too large for overhead or underseat stowing, and would have to be checked.
TIM H I think it would be too big. Unless it doesn't matter how long it is. The bag is much bigger than I was expecting. Check the dimensions. The height and width aren't bad, it's just the length that's a possible issue.
DOUGLAS B This is a well made bag of sturdy material that is of a good size to fit your items. You will need to check with the airline for their size and item restrictions.

TOM C Depends- it is collapsable . Great bag , worth the money. Has a cardboard bottom that can be removed so it could collapse to fit the airplane requirements but would not fit full of gear- at least not on airplane I flew on last week

JEFF A This bag is too large for carry-on. It would have to be check-on baggage.
ANDREW S I use it to carry 2 wetsuits, hood, gloves, BCD, fins, 2 snorkels, and 3 masks - checking the bag at the airport. I put my regulator, dive log, dive computer, dive light, camera, and waterproof camera case in a backpack that i carry on the plane. This keeps the duffel bag weight under 50 lbs. and prevents baggage gorillas from damaging (or losing) any important expensive gear.
ANDREW S This bag is larger than what airlines will let you carry on. If you've got it stuffed with dive gear it won't fit into the overhead bin anyway. I also recommend weighing it if stuffed to make sure you don't exceed the 50 lb. limit and get tagged for overweight baggage when you check it.
DWAYNE D This is a wonderful bag that I use every time I dive on the California coast. I have never taken it on a plane. You should be able to check this bag. Check with the airline that you will be flying to make sure that it meets size requirements.
