Shopper Is this product compatable with the canon g12 underwater housing WP-DC34? If so is it a good strobe for this camera? Thank you.
JOHN P I have a canon s95 and WP-DC38 housing and it's compatible. I'm not sure how the two housing's compare but the tray is pretty simple so I think it would work with most compact camera housings.
I got the strobe a couple months ago and have only used it on one dive trip (4 dives). This is my first strobe so I'm still learning the best way to use it but my pictures came out 100x better than before I had the strobe.
I would definitely recommend it.
V S It's a fantastic strobe, far superior to the Ikelite AF35, which I also considered. It should work fine with the g12 and WP-DC34 with a tray and arm combo, and you can use the included fiber optic cable and masking kit to sync the camera's flash with the strobe. The g12 should have a ttl flash that's compatible with the ys01..I use an s100 that has essentially the same features as the g12.
