Questions about this item:
Shopper What is the difference with these fins verses the twin jet max?
WILLIAM K I have no experience with the Twin Jet Max but from what I can see the only difference seems to be in appearance with the color inserts in the Max, and possibly the way the heel straps connect to the fin. I've replaced the heel straps on my Twin Jets with the spring heel straps. I'm not sure that would be an option with the Max because of the way the straps connect to the fin.
Shopper I wear a size 13 Henderson aqua-lock 7mm bootie and need a BIG foot pocket due to the thick sole. Will the XL be big enough for me?
WILLIAM K I wear a size 10, 7 mil, thick sole boot and originally ordered an XL in this fin. They were huge! I returned it for a Large and they are perfect. I would bet that an XL would be right for a size 13. I also ordered the ScubaPro spring heel straps and I'm very please with both. Hope this helps!
CHRISTOPHER C I wear the same boot and have a 10.5 shoe size. I have the XL size for this very reason and can tell you that they are plenty big even for your foot size because there is so much strap length left to accommodate your longer foot. No problem!
b b I have this fin, and am considering the spring strap. Worth it?
Also, when wearing my 5mm boot, the foot pocket doesn't quite meet the point where my ankle meets my leg, but the footbed extends almost to the end of my heel, maybe 1" away. However, most all fin fit guides say that if the top of the foot pocket doesn't reach that point where foot ends and leg begins, then they are too small. Thoughts? I'm not sure this method is right for my foot. I'm size 11 shoe, with size L fins. Thanks!
FRANK K I too wear a sz 11 w/5mm boots (thick sole) and sz L fins. I had the same fin in XL I wore for only one dive because they were too large and consequently weren't snug enough. Repeated use would certainly have resulted in bliters/chaffing. I returned for a sz L.
That said, I quit using these fins due to their weight. Staying horizontal required too much effort.
I never expirience the speed gains that everyone claims. I do remember feeling more fatigued w/these on dives w/any distance. Perhaps people are mistaking the sensation of speed w/effort. This would be similar to driving 40mph in 2nd gear; it appears fast because the engine is screaming.
JAMES R Ultimately you want the heel at the base of the fin, the fin to be snug but not overly tight as this will make you foot numb. I use a XL but my foot is a 13+. It sounds like you may have a good fit, but you need to decide based on your comfort. I have had many fins but these have been my favorite. JR
Shopper i'm 10 size (US shoe) and normally i use 3mm soft boot, exactly with this boot i used to have my SP Jet Fins in XL size and they were fitting perfect, however i was told the Twin Jets are a bit bigger on the foot pocket reason why i'm asuming size Large will be perfect for me.
Does anyone use the M or XL sizes with 10 size soft boot?
JOHN S Hey there,
I found that these fins do run a little large. I am an 11 and ordered an xl. I always wear 3mm boots and I find them a bit large on me. I would think a m might be better for you.
NESTOR A i have sise M and my regular sise is 8 1/2 and my boot are 3 mm but if I were you I will get the new one Scubapro Seawing Gorilla Fins, Black with Gray Strap they are really good.
DOROTHY C I use a quarter inch hard sole zippered boot, so can't answer the question. The size just fits my boots with some tightness when I go to remove them.
SHANNON A Not sure what you refer to as a soft boot but my husband uses the Large fins with size 10 Seasoft Sunray 3mm Low Cut Boots (sold at Leisure Pro), these have a fairly thick sole and they are a perfect fit - we did swap out the buckle fin strap with the spring fin strap, this way we can still use our tropic slipper (similar to the Deep See Beachwalker sold at Leisure Pro) without making any adjustments. These are Great fins and I highly recommend them!
RONALD L I use large with 9 .5 size boot it really would not be badly affected by size 9- 11 as much as the bulkiness of the boot. The fin seems to accommodate a variety of styles (wet shoe for warm in florida and 7mm boot for cold in NE) so no problems on shoe side.
Shopper Did it last?
JAMES D We love these fins, have recommended to other divers and purchased multiple pairs for our grown children for Christmas.
JAMES D We love these fins, have recommended to other divers and purchased for our grown kids for Christmas last year.
FRANK K yes, the fins have endured 2yr+. I stopped using them as primary since they don't maneuver as well as I would like. Also, they are heavy, making them impractical for technical dives since they force the diver vertical at rest.
JOHN L I bought a pair of gray twin fins about 10 to 12 years ago, I love them and will not use any thing else. I bought a second pair because the first pair was a midium and the new ones are large yellow pair, both float instead of sinking. The fins take very little leg muscle, they don't kickup silk when close to the bottom. After two dives you will not be as tired as you were. After having my first pair for a few years I let a dive buddy use them and I used his plastic fins, I stayed in the water for about 5 minutesand got back in the boat. It felt like I had a sheet of plywood tied to my feet. I have tried two other type of split fins and the Scubapro twin jet fins are the best. The open heel fins are great if you dive in cool water wearing booties. Alot of your public safety divers use them because when moving around on land or on the bottom they will fold upand not trip you. Yes I do recommend these fins over anything else.
BARBARA H Yes, I still have them today. I have done over 100 dives since I bought them too.
LEON S I am a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, and own my own dive shop. I dive on an average of 3 dives a day, 5 days a week. I bought the Scubapro Twin Jet Open Heel Fins about 3 years ago, and they are still like new. The only thing I had to replace were the fin straps. I love them and would recommend them to anyone.
Greg H My shoe size is 11? and I wear a 2/3mm dive boot. What would be the best size to order?
What is the overall length of the fin?
Thanks to all.
Greg H. (Commander USN Seals Retired)
Monica s Your should be fine in an XL. The overall length of that fin is 25 inches.
Saar V I wear an "action plus" neoprene boot size 8 and currentlu use "Mares - avanti quattro" fins size "Small". what size would you recommend for me?
Monica s Depending on what type of sole you have and the thickness, most likely you will be a small in the twin jets as well, the thicker the sole and thickness of neoprene you may be more comfortable in a medium.
Shopper anyone out there wear a size 12? 3 mil soft soled bootie is the max I wear though I have considered a hard sole. I bought a xl from a different manufacturer but had to swap out for a L. I'm not looking for gueses guys, I looking for actual experience. thanks
JOHANNA R You should go into a shop and try a pair on with your boot. Every boot regardless of the size has different manufacturing parameters and different manufacturing results. Most dive shops carry these fins.
WILLIAM K I purchased the XL for use with a hard sole 5-7 mil boot. I have also replaced the original straps with the ScubaPro spring heel straps. I had originally ordered the large, but it was entirely to small for the hard sole boot. The large would likely be suitable for a lighter boot.
Richard W I wear a neoprene boot size 10, what size would you recommend me?
RANDY J Large -
And yes, SP TWJ's can frog kick - I took them senote diving
Great fins, I dive them and the SP Jet Fins exclusively.
R.Johnson
KRISTINA J I wear a men's 10.5. The large fit pretty well when I'm wearing a water shoe or standard boot except that the toe slides into the hole.
JAMES B I wear an 11 boot with the large fins. My boots fit a liitle big though. If your boots fit snug or big I would go with the large fins.
GARY H It depends upon the boot itself. Some have a heavier sole and toe area. For my size 10 neoprene boots, likely by another manufacturer than yours, I use the size Large fins. For my size 10 Bare Trek dry suit boots, the XL size is what I use. Yes, I have both sizes. Soory that I cannot be definitive.
KENT S Richard,
I wear a size 10 boot also and have the large fins. The large fits size 9-11 well.
WILLIAM K Hi Richard, I also wear a size 10-11 boot, but the boot is a thick soled boot. I originally ordered a large in the fin, but had to exchange for an X-large. If your boots are thick soled (like a sneaker), I would recommend an X-large. I think you will be pleased with the fins.
ROBERT M P Richard, I wear a size 9 3mil. boot, and own a pair of the med. size Scubapro twin jet open heel fins. I think you will be okay with the med. size fin. These are a great fin for drift diving and slow current. If you do a lot of diving in strong current I would not recommend a split fin, you will be disappointed. Robert M.
JOHANNA R I would recommend an XL
ERIC W I too wear a size 10 boot and have been using a large for 3 years. They fit perfectly over both a very hard sole boot for shore diving and a much lighter boot for boats.
Shopper What size would I need if I wear a womans size 7 1/2 with 2 m boot?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a small.
Shopper How much do these fins weigh?
LeisurePro S Shipping weight of 5.35 pounds
Shopper I have size 11 shoe, should I order a L or XL?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a large if you're wearing the fins with a standard neoprene boot or the xlarge if you'll be using them with a drysuit boot.
Shopper I want to purchase a pair of Scubapro "Twin Jet" Open Heel Split Fins. I wear a size 9. My old fins are Dacor Turbo-Flex, size "large". These fins fit well w/ medium weight boots. Should I order "large" "Twin Jet" Fins?
LeisurePro S These fins have an extra wide foot pocket to accommodate dry suit boots, so I am leaning towards the medium for you in these fins. You are welcome to order multiple sizes and return the ones that don't work out.
Shopper are these fins good for snorkeling and spearfishing
LeisurePro S These fins are probably a little hefty for just snorkeling, but if you are free diving/spearfishing, they will give you some good thrust underwater.

Using the patented split fin technology, the Talaria deliver more forward-going thrust than a conventional fin in terms of power to thrust ratio. This means less drag and energy expended for the same swimming speed. Like a pair of underwater wings, Talaria gives the diver unrivaled freedom of movement underwater, especially when turning or changing direction. The fin is made from a specially formulated thermal plastic rubber, which is then fine-tuned to give an excellent balance between flexibility and rigidity. Fins have a roomy foot pocket which can easily accommodate dry suit boots... more
