Questions about this item:
Shopper I am taking my advanced water cert and need a waterproof watch for the navigation segment,. Would I be able to use this or do I need to purchase a separate watch?
steve p the wrist computer does not replace a compass but i have been delighted with the Cressi Leonardo i have used it on 8 dives and it has provided everything i needed. I have had no issue with display and it is easy to use. I have wanted and received the 3 minute countdown. Hope this helps.
MARK J This dive computer does have the date and time on it, so you shouldn't need a separate watch.
RYAN G I dont think this model has a compass on it, its been a couple months since ive used mine but im pretty sure it doesnt have a compass. A good compass to use is a retractable one that atatches to your bcd.
KENNETH S It has no navigation capability.
STEVEN E this computer has no navigation headings... it does have a watch...if the only thing you need for is a watch you would be better off just buying a watch..... is a great entry level computer I have used it on 50 dives with no problems...nitrox also
KEITH S This watch only tells the depth, water temp, and keeps up with your pressure group and dive history. It is not a watch or a compass.
Mitchell E I used this dive computer during my advanced class and it worked great. I am currently a public safety diver and use this computer on every dive. It is well worth the money.
ASHLEY T Depends on what you need a watch for. This is a computer so it tells you dive time, depth, your deco times, etc. If you just need a marker to tell you your bottom time then all you need is a dive watch which is a lot cheaper. However, if you're going to be getting into diving than get the computer. If you're going to start diving yourself without a dive master, you will DEFINITELY need the computer so it's a better investment to just go ahead and get the computer now.
I have this one, and it's a great starting computer. It does the job, though a bit on the conservative side. Sometimes, it likes to send me up to the surface on the third dive of the day if I do a longer deep dive in the morning, even though I know I could stay down longer. Egh, better safe than sorry though I guess.
DONALD G The Cressi dive computer is great but for navigation I would prefer a separate wrist compass
BRIAN G There is a basic watch function on this. I personally recommend having multiple sources of info like time, so I choose to wear an analog dive watch for ease and failsafe. At the end of the day, if your computer fails, you should be ending your dive anyways but any place you can reasonably add a layer of safety, why not! Hope this helps.
jeffrey f are there transmitters for this computer to make it air integrated?
ALFREDO Z I DON?T THINK SO
DAVID E Not that I am aware of.
STEVEN E No..its not that fancy...just your basic computer
BRADFORD E No. The Leonardo is not air integrated. An excellent computer, though. Everything you need, nothing you don't.
JAMIE C No, I do not believe this computer can be integrated with your air supply.
RANDAL S nope. it's not setup to receive any wireless transmissions
Jabe W When diving nitrox and an oxygen level is programmed in, does the Leonardo retain that level until re-programmed or does it default to some other level?
RANDAL S i've only dove once so far with Nitrox, but i'm pretty sure the Leonardo retained the O2 level, b/c i'm quite certain i had to set it back to a normal 21% level.
Glenn G Disregard. Thought I was answering on the Mares puck.
Glenn G It defaults to the last settings used. i.e.Nitrox with the last o2 % or air depending on the last dive.
MICHAEL P I wish I could answer this question for you but I have not taken this computer on a dive yet. I will be diving with it next weekend. I did take the online training and it is very simple to program. The Dive Planning mode is very easy to use. If for some reason it did not retain the oxygen level information, it seems like it is very easy to program again. Sorry I couldn't give you an answer from experience but I can tell you that I have been navigating through the screens and this computer is very simple to use. The very large screen makes it easy to see the information and the one button operation is simple. Good Luck!
Shopper does this dive watch have a safety stop countdown display?
TIM F Yes. The computer includes a safety stop timer.
SARFARAZ S Yes it does have this feature. It is activated automatically during ascent
RANDAL F Yes it does. It's a 3 minute countdow. The computer is a bit on the large side, but very easy to read during day or night dives. It's a good computer for a good price.
MICHAEL B Yes however only in minutes, not in seconds if thats what your looking for
Shopper Can someone tell me how thick (fat) this computer is? Or how much it sticks up from your wrist. Thanks!
ROBIN P It measures about 1 inch thick. I had a Tussa Imprex wrist computer and when I tried to put my arm through the strap of my BC, the wrist computer would get caught. The Cressi Leonardo is smooth and I have had no trouble slipping my arm through the BC strap.
JAMES M Without measuring, I would say it is probably about an inch. The thickness is no issue for me. I dove the wrecks at Truk Lagoon. The computer was never in the way. It is a very easy to use and durable piece of equipment.
DAVID E It is about 1" thick
DAVID W about a 1/4 inch thick. Stick fine with with 3 or 5 ml wet suit.. Strap is great, no need for an extention.
ANDREW T It's a normal computer puck size. It' not a watch size computer.
ALAIN B 28 mm or 1 1/16 inch thick.
George S The computer is 1 inch thick and 2 1/2 inches diameter across face.
ASHLEY T I have a very petite wrist and the face takes up my entire wrist. I have to clasp it on the very last one so I started wearing it mid forearm instead. Answer to your question, it's pretty big.
ALFREDO Z The computer is pritty thick, if used as a watch is too big, but to use as a diving computer is great, nice big numbers, easy to use and gives you every data needed.
GREGG O It is fairly thick
I do not have it with me to measure but it is approximatey34" - 1" thick
overall a very nice product and easy to use
CHANTAL P It's about 1/2" thick. It is kind of bulky compared to a watch but not any bulkier than any other dive computers I have seen while diving.
It is very simple to use. The pc interface is a must have to make it completely simple
STEVEN E It sticks up 3/4 to maybe 1 inch thick of your wrist
jitka k can I get the temperature of the water on this computer? It doesnt say in description..thank you
GREGG O This unit does not record temperature
JESPER S Yes, the Leonardo does display and track water temperature. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
MARK J Yes, this dive computer provides the water temperature along with all of the other dive statistics you'd want to see including the safety stop at the end of the dive.
COURTNEY H I have not had a chance to take it diving yet so I am excited that it does show the temp! yay!
COURTNEY H I don't believe that it does, although I have not yet been diving with it. In playing with it I have not yet seen a thermometer. Hope that helps :) happy diving!
ANDREW T Yes it shows the water temp. I have used this computer on about a dozen dives and like it a lot. Its very easy to use and would recommend it to others.
JOE T Yes, the Gage function shows current tepm in c or f.
STEVEN E yes the temperature of the water is diplayed as your diving
DAVID E Yes the Leonardo does display the water temperature.
CHRISTOPHER M S Yes, it gives you the water temperature and records it in the log book. Great computer, just used it for 10 dives in the Bahamas, the water was 83-86 the whole time!
JAMIE C Hi, I recently purchased this computer and used it on a diving trip. Yes, it shows the water temperature, in both F and C. I was very happy with it overall. Hope that helps.
Jamie
ALAN A Yes, the Cressi Leonardo can display the water temperature. See pages 36, 55 & 62 of the English manual (.pdf).
BRIAN G The Leonardo shows temperature as well as time. My wife and I use one and we both love the simplicity. We have used it for nitrox dives as well and it's easy to change settings on the fly. Hope this helps. For the money you won't be disappointed!
JAMES M Yes! This computer does show the temperature of the water.
Shopper Interested in entry level wrist dive computer. Would you recomend the Cressi Leonardo or Suunto Zoop?
DAVID E Yes I would recomend. I bought one for myself and my 12 year old son. They are easy to use and compare well with other dive watches I researched.
JOHN N The Cressi Leonardo Wrist Computer was purchase as a gift for my wife. She just recently returned from her dive trip (Turks & Cacos Aggressor) and found that the computer was easy to use and very accurate. She completed 39 dives and the computer kept excellent track of her dive information including bottom time and depth. Overall a very good purchase.
BRADFORD E I have 19 dives on my Leonardo and am very satisfied. All of the data that you need during the dive is displayed on one screen and the surface interval is displayed clearly between dives. Operation is intuitive. I have owned a Suunto Gekko in the past. Similar to the Zoop with multiple button operation. I prefer a one button computer having owned both types. Both are good, I feel that the Leonardo is easier to use.
justin b does this have a watch function?
MICHAEL P It will tell you the time but it is not a chronograph. It is also not a stopwatch. The unit is very large (which is a good thing) but it is too big for me to wear as an everyday watch.
HENRY S What do you mean? Are asking if it tells time?
JOE T Yes it is for diving and does tell the time with both 12 hour and 24 hour time options.
JOHN B Yes it sure does. Nice computer.
???? ? How i can delete a dive from logbook or history? (buy usen and want to see only my dives)
Monica s You cannot delete dives, the computer will log your most recent dives and will overwrite the older dives.
betsy w what is the dimensions of the screen in height and width??
Monica s Width: 1 3/4"
Hight: 1 1/4"
???? ? this is computer have metric system (measure of depth in meters etc)?
Shopper does it include the data link to connect the computer ?
David R No, as the CRESSI LEONARDO PC DOWNLOAD kit is sold for $114.95
Shopper can you use this for freediving?
KENNETH S I just got this.....instruction book rather cryptic....but it seems to be saying that if yo use the "gauge" function ....which seems to be simply showing depth and time......then the decompression functions will not work for is it 48 or 72 hours....??
don't ask me!
Shopper Does this include the transmitter?
Monica s No, it is not air integrated.
