Questions about this item:
Shopper Hi,
kinda of confused - some comments indicates that it does not have an oral inflation.
so does it or does it not have an oral inflation ?
for the oral inflation - is it one of those that i can use a LP BC inflator hose as well ? or i can only blow into it (similar to those that you see on aircraft lift vests) ?
DAVID M No oral valve. This is about 2 and a half meters (almost 8 feet) of marker buoy, so my lungs, at least, won't inflate it. I only deployed it once. Hold the open end under water to seal, and wrap it around the 2nd stage or octopus. Push the purge valve until inflated and standing up. It has a dump valve to deflate, and no connections for an inflater hose. The feature I like is a velcro flap to help secure the buoy when it's rolled up. However, like every marker buoy I've used, if I'm not careful securing it, it comes unwrapped from the inside out. I've had one occasion of it coming undone during a dive so I trailed it throughout the dive.
Regards
STEVEN V Yes it has an opening for regulator filling, an over pressurize valve, And a port for either manual inflation or using and LPI line.
JEFFREY B It does orally inflate You can also use your low pressure inflater off you bcd
SCOTT C It has both an oral inflation option, similar to an aircraft life vest but also has an option, at the bottom, to use a reg to inflate. This is a great SMB, large enough to be seen in a rough sea but, if rolled very tightly, will fit into a dive-rite spare mask pouch. This is a significant step up from the $15 lightweight SMB's you see on the end cap at the dive shop. I highly recommend it.
KUNTAL J Hi - this type of SMB does not have an external oral inflation system. You have to use your regulator to inflate the SMB. Hope this helps,
K
Shopper Does the purchase come with the mesh bag?
JOHN K There is no mesh bag. It rolls up into a compact roll.
CHRISTOPHER P I bought mine a couple of years ago, but I don't recall that it came with a mesh bag.
DAVID J No it doesn't. It rolls up tight with a velcro strap for quick release. Think about it, your in the water and the boat is pulling off would you want to have to remove it from a mesh bag while your waving and screaming? NO.. pop the velcro use your regulator to quickly fill it up with air to signal for HELP!!!
DAVID I No, just a velcro tie up.
JIM B No it does not but it has a d-ring for attachment to a bc. this is one of the best safety markers on the market today, we've used their lifting capacity with positive results , I recommend it to anyone.
KEVIN F No, but it does have a velcro strap that keeps it rolled up.
Shopper What is the size of the surface marker when rolled up?
LeisurePro S This is approx. 6.5" by 11" when rolled up.
Shopper Does this bag have a dump valve?
LeisurePro S Yes, there is an over-pressure relief valve with a manual release.
Shopper Does this bag have an over pressurized valve; so that the bag doesn't explode if it is filled up at 70 feet and released on a reel? Also, how does it normally inflate? MP hose, Octopus, orally?
LeisurePro S Yes, there is an over pressure relief valve to keep the bag from bursting at high pressures. This buoy can be inflated with your second stage regulator or other air source. It also has an oral inflation valve.
Shopper is it possible to do oral inflation with this smb?
LeisurePro S Yes. Has a one way oral inflation valve.
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
MATT S Its huge, and very visible
DAVID C Neah Bay Washington can get foggy and choppy and I want the boat to find me. 50 lbs of lift for getting things to the surface also.
CARMEN G BY FAR THE BIGGEST SIGNAL BUOY I HAVE SEEN. IT WORKS GREAT AND IT'S VERY VISIBLE TO BOAT CREWS WHEN DOING DRIFT DIVES. HAVE NOT USED IT YET IN NIGHT DIVES (TO SEE HOW THE REFLECTOR WORKS).

The use of Rubber and Plastic in the same Fin Blade has allowed the manufacturing of Composite Fins. This ability to combine a Soft Thermo-Plastic Rubber (TPR) with a Stiff Polypropylene Plastic creates a fin that is Flexible, easy to kick, yet providing Ample Power to move through the water. Plastic is Lighter Weight then Rubber, so the fin is not only more efficient, it is also lighter requiring less effort to obtain the same thrust allowing the diver to fin for longer periods without any stress. XS Scuba's Goby Fool Foot Fins use these technologies... more
