DAVE V Everyone should have a snorkel as part of their dive kit....this takes away the excuse that a snorkel gets in the way or is cumbersome on repetitive or liveaboard trips. You never know when you will need it but when you do YOU REALLY DO!!

JAN N PADI demands that all instructors have a snorkel. It is usually very unpractical to have one attached to the mask all the time so having one that rolls and stows in a pocket in my geek shorts is very convenient. This snorkel is not nearly as high performing as Aqualung rigid or semi rigid Pulse but it works for instructional purposes. If I expect to do long surface swims I would still use a Pulse.

MARGARET M This snorkel is self draining below the mouthpiece. It's a great snorkel if you don't like to wear a snorkel during your dive but want to have one in the pocket of your BCD for safety purposes. It's a great 2nd snorkel for a diver. I wouldn't recommend it for just snorkeling because it's not rigid.

JEANNE R Hi Scott, Not as such, but easy to purge. Water does not access easily. I only use it as a backup if needed while diving in emergency, so it is safely tucked away in my BC. If I am going snorkeling, I prefer to use a harder encasing model. Hopes this help. If not, ask again. Jeanne

CATHERINE C No, it doesn't have a purge valve. But I've found the simpler the snorkel's construction, the less opportunity it has to leak and the longer it lasts. This is a basic snorkel that does the job for a SCUBA diver in a pinch as it won't clutter up your gear and is easy to store in a BCD. If you're not a diver and simply want a snorkel, you might consider a rigid one.
GAIL/JEFFREY L yes. It has a purge valve (I had to dig it out of my gear to check). A great unit if you do not like a tube on your mask or do so diving where a tube on the mask is a no-no. Jeff

JAMES C Ugh, I just realized I just reviewed the wrong Item. I bought two stowables for the trip and reviewed the wrong one! Please ignore my previous post, the XS snorkel DOES have a purge valve.
JAMES C No purge valve, just a smooth tube with a somewhat tear drop shape for added strength. It does work extremely well though and easily fit in my BC pocket. I had to fold it in thirds instead of rolling it, as the only velcro pocket on my BCD is tall and skinny, but it worked great all the same.

PAUL H No, the snorkle does not have purge valve, which I like, keeping with the "keep it simple" design of the snorkle. I have made over 150 dives using the snorkle and it has performed flawlessly.
HEATHER F It does have a purge valve. Excellent buy if you dislike having a bulky snorkel always attached to your mask. I keep mine rolled up in my BCD pocket just in case I ever need it. :)
