This tool works great for pointing, keeping away from the reef, and signaling to your dive buddy. I had a 'figure 8' snorkle band handy, which is just the right size to fit around the 'shaker' part of the tool. This allows you to attach a wrist strap or line to keep it handy and not let it get away. Wish I had seen these before spending money on other signaling devices.

Great for travel as they are compact but perform very well and are well made. Using the pointing end with a wrist loop on it is not practical so I had metal loops welded on the rattle end for the wrist loop as someone else recommended. Now it is perfect. I snorkel in remote tropical areas where you need to bring all your own gear and this is essential for pointing to others and stabilizing during rough currents while taking photos.

I have not used this product yet but I do believe it needs some tweaking. In fact I have already tweaked it. The way it is set up is if you want to put in on a lanyard the loop part would go where the pointer is. Not good. The loop part needs to go on the solid end where the rattle is so you can easily hold it in your hand and have it attached to a lanyard. I went to a welder and had him put a ring on the larger end so I could attach a lanyard.
