Questions about this item:
Shopper Can you put them on ahead of time and keep them on between dives or are they too slippery for that on boat (wet or dry) like some other synthetic socks are?
JOSH C About the same as bare feet.
MICHAEL A I generally put them on right before I put on my wetsuit, and never remove them between dives. They are not slippery on the boat deck. They are thin so I would not recommend too much walking around. I use Mares closed foot fins and used to get a sore area on my foot after a few dives. These solved that problem perfectly. I keep a spare new pair in my regulator case because I wouldn't want to dive without them.

Wayne H I'm on my second pair of these and have never experienced them being too slippery to keep on between dives. The lycra is smooth, so perhaps on a completely smooth boat deck that is wet there may be an issue with them being slippery but if the deck has any kind of texture to it then my opinion is that these will be fine. I personally tend to take these off between dives, not because they are slippery, but to prevent them from getting damaged.
That said, given that these are a smooth lycra I would imagine they would behave like other socks you might have tried. If those felt slippery to you, chances are these probably will also.
KENNETH F Depending on the surface of the deck you are on, they tend to be a little slippery, especially when wet. Being thin, I don't intend to wear them other than when I have my boots on. I bought them as protection against chafing.
JOE F They did not seem especially slippery when wet but our boat deck was roughened for traction.
JOZSEF S I don't find them to be slippery at all, wet or dry. I don't even look at my other synthetic socks anymore.
SANDY R I wear them under my dive boots and leave both on between dives, so slipping is not an issue for me. If you are wearing the sock only, I would take them off while on a boat, in between dives.

JOZSEF S They are too slipery to walk around. And they snag too. I tqke them off in between dives.
FRAN G My husband puts them on right before his booties and he does not remove his booties between dives. I think it would be slippery if the boat had no carpet. And if it does the socks would fray. But they are great against blisters.
JOHN R They are the same as other socks. They have no grip on them. They would be slippery.
JERRY K I put them on right before I puth the boots on. You can keep them on without the boots, they are not slippery, but will get worn out pretty quick.
JASON L F They are very simular to other synthetic socks so that leads me to believe they are equally slippery. However, I do find them comfortable to relax in during my SI on warm days.

MARK L I'm sure they will fit. They fit like the socks you purchase in store which fit sock size 9-13. These are one of the best investment I made as far as my diving gear goes. If your feet are wet and you wear your Lycra socks your feet will easily slip into your boots. I wear size 10-1/2 and they are roomy enough for me and the extra layer of warmth is nice too..

MICHAEL Z LYCRA? fiber is a man-made elastane fiber. Never used alone, but always blended with other fibers, it has unique stretch and recovery properties. LYCRA? fiber adds comfort, fit, shape retention, durability and freedom of movement. This is achieved thanks to the unique properties of the fiber, which can be stretched up to seven times its initial length before springing back to the original position once tension is released.
JULIE J It is a stretchy synthetic material. It makes the socks fit snug and retain their shape. I have used these several times, and I really like them.
BARBARA P I bought these socks to use on a warm water dive trip. I use them with my full foot fins as the fins tend to cause blisters and the socks prevent them. These socks are great. Lycra is a stretchy fabric that retains its elasticity well like a bathing suit. My friend (male) also bought a pair and he is very happy with them also. They are one size fits most.

WENDY P I think that the sock will fit any size, it is not constructed like a cotton sock with a formed heel so it slides on easily and should form to any foot.

LARRY B Yes, the sock will fit. My wife has the same size foot and she tried them on just to make sure.
THOMAS B It fits me and I'm a size 13, it is tight though and I rip them. It would probably work for a 5 1/2 but fit real loose. It will stop chafing. My advice is to see if there is another brand with sizes. If you can't find a sized brand go for it, they are cheap enough to not worry about it if it fails to work out.
MICHAEL Z not sure about 5.5 , but they are pretty small and stretch considerably.

NIGEL L Absolutely! They are a tube sock, so specific ankle position or foot length. For a shorter foot, they'll just come up farther on your calves.
NIGEL L Absolutely! They're tube socks, with no specific "ankle" or foot length. You'll just have them a little farther up your calf. I'm a men's size 12 foot, and the socks are plenty long enough. They make getting in and out of wet suits (wet or dry) and skins so much easier than either bare feet or polyolefin socks. They also greatly help in preventing rubbing and chaffing from boot seams or zippers.
LINDA D They are a "tube sock" design so they should be fine. These are really great. We used them on a two week trip to Bonaire and they made boots and wetsuits a breeze to take on and off, not to mention no blisters. Tip: wear them inside out and you wont feel the seam! Highly recommended.
