DANIEL B I have a ScubaPro G250V second stage and I can't see how to detach the original hose from it. It seems just crimped on. (There are no hexagonal nuts or anything.) Would I need to take it to a dive shop to replace the original hose with a Miflex?
JOHN M Newer SB 2nd stages no longer use an lp hose with a hex nut. I suspect the reason is that they want to infuse the hose changing process with some appearance of technical complexity in an attempt to stamp out all of us who prefer to do things ourselves.. In fact, changing hoses is simple. I have a g250v and a few other SP 2nd stages. The newer ones abandoned the hex nut at the end of the hose and replaced it with a nut that has about a dozen longitudinal flanges that match the identical set up on the hose side of the 2nd stage. When the two are screwed together they are exactly 1 inch long.
The hose flange is 5/8ths long, the permanent attachment point on the 2nd stage looks identical but is 3/8ths long. If the flanges on both are matched so they meet perfectly (not necesary) all you see is a thin line at the meeting point of what looks like an inch long multi-flanged connection.. Secure the 2nd stage with a wrench that has its flanges covered with a cloth to prevent scratches.. Likewise on the hose side. Grip both firmly. The usual counter-clockwise turn to losen and remove. They should come apart easily. When replacing the hose, tighten to a firm hand tight, then a one half extra turn at most. Don't overtighten, and use a bit of silicon on the o-ring and threads. Use very little. Simple as pie.

JESSE S No you can do this. Look on the second stage where the existing hose connects. You will see what looks like two burled nuts, one on the hose, and the other on the regulator itself. By burled I mean the connections have numerous edges that stand out. You can see that there are two there and they are joined together. You can use two pairs of pliers to grab each one and simply unscrew the burled nut that is on the hose end. Once removed you will see the threads exposed on the burled nut on the regulator. You can now screw on your new miflex hose. Don't overtighten.
ROBERT C No just use pliers and unscrew the standard hose.
Aubrey F I have seen multiple questions about the hoses fitting different 1st/2nd stages.
I have to ask if these hoses will fit an Apeks first stage, a TX 100 second stage and a TX 40 octo?

THOMAS P I use both high and low pressure Miflex hoses on Apeks first stages on my rebreather (i.e., no second stage). Also on Mares 1st and 2nd stages on open circuit. These hoses use standard fittings, so they should fit all manufacturers. In April, 2012, a recall of high pressure Miflex hoses was announced. New Miflex hoses are being sent to owners of the recalled hp hoses.
MICHAEL S Yes, they fit Apeks. Standard size hose fittings work with pretty much all first and second stages.
gary f They will, the male end is a standard LP thread will fit all first stages. The female end will fit your regulators too, most of these are standard also.
Ps Noticed the website mentions 2 types just make sure you don't get the BC inflator disconnect type. When you order, this option doesn't show on the order form ,maybe worth a call just to confirm though.

TERRELL P I do not know about the specific regulator you ask about; it is the standard size and fits my Sherwood 1st stage to both octo's I use, a Mares and a Tusa. I bought it for the length for the times my daughter dives we me on shallow beach dives and we share a tank. Although I don't cave dive, I think it would be slightly too short for that application.

Shopper I need a 36 in low pressure regulator hose for a scubapro. Is it compatable?
HENRY V If it is for a regulator I would say it is compatible, if it is for a BC quick disconnect you will also need one of the XS Scuba hose adaptors depending on if you have a standard inflator or an Air II or III. They make several hose adaptors to allow you to use them. I have them on my octopus and inflator hose and use the hp hose on my gauges and love them. Can't use one on my primary reg as they don't have a swivel adaptor that like. Hope this helps
MICHAEL S Look at the ends in the up-close photo. I installed them on an AquaLung Titan LX and and an Aqua-Lung Octo with no problems. I believe that the male end off the regulator are pretty standard. All of my friends that have MiFlex don't mention any problems with compatability, and we're all using different gear.

LEWIS H I presume you need the hose to supply breathing gas from a first stage regulator to Scubapro second stage regulator. The answer is yes, just be sure you don't purchase a hose with a low pressure inflator (the quick connect/quick release) fitting installed.

EGLADIR X Yes it will, if you are using on of the older MR22 first stages with the 1/2 inch "high flow" port then you would order this adaptor:

It will screw onto the first stage port and then the 3/8" miflex can be attached.
The 1/2 "high flow" port and hose was more of a marketing gimmick and Mares now supplies all first stages with standard 3/8" ports (AFAIK)
The miflex is a worthwhile addition and I have them on all my regs for comfort.

WELLINGTON L Well. The LP port for the Abyss intended for your primary 2nd stage is an extra large 1/2" port for use with a 1/2" Mares hose. Compare it to the one for your octo or inflator which uses 3/8" ports. Most regulators use only 3/8" LP ports now.
This hose will not fit into that port. However you could connect this hose into a different port, and use the original 1/2" 2nd stage port and hose as an octo, or you could close it with a cover.
There might be a 1/2" to 3/8" convertor.
Great hose though better than standard hoses in every possible way.
JULIO O All hose sizes are STARDARIZED. This low pressure hose will work on any Reg 1st and 2nd stage. For your console or SPG you'll need the High Pressure Hose.

CRAIG T The ends are standard size so it should fit fine. I would measure my existing hoses to see what length you need ,36" seems long for a second stage over the shoulder. Unless you are using it for an Octo.
JASON P The Miflex hoses use the standard sized regulator connectors, so will fit the vast majority of makes and models of regulators in use. While not necessary you may wish to transfer your hose protectors from your old hoses to the miflex.
