Monica s It depends on what boot you have and how much tension you want, based solely on you medium fin and 44-45 shoe size I would say medium should be ok.

I'm a female wearing size 6. I measured the length pin to pin as previously suggested. It was roughly 10 inches. Will 8 inches straps be too loose for me? Or can I shorten the straps??
CHIALI H My shoe size is F8.5. Had 8 inches straps attached to Power Fins. They're tight with Turbo Sole, and can't be used with my size 7 Rock Boots. Different fins and boots do make differences.
RICARDO P You can't shorten the straps but, minus two inches is fine.
Ali D I am size 8 boot. If I measure from ankle bone around, I get 6 inches. So what do you mean, post to post then subtract 2? I would get 4 inches. And thats not right!

You need to talk to an LP tech. I went through this. Some of the straps are measured from farthest point to farthest point. Some are measured from center of lug to center of lug. Don't remember which these were. Sounds like maybe fp to fp yielding -4". Side note, I have smaller feet like you. These were the only ones that were small enough to fit me a 8.5 to 9. Also, they come with adapters but not for all lugs. I put these on one pair of Mares fins, but would not adapt to another pair of Mares fins I have. Nice product, but make sure they work on your fins.

WILLIAM H Put the fin on your foot and adjust the strap to fit properly. Now measure your strap on the fin from the pin to pin. if you look at the spring strap this will be the overall length pin to pin. They use a sizing system that only measures the spring length for some reason.
Ali D I measured 12 inches. But Chris answered first and he told me to subtract 4 inches, do based on that I ordered the 8 inch size. Then Hartford answered and said subtract 2 inches. And now you are saying subtract nothing! Very very confusing...
WILLIAM H Sorry i wasnt clear. Subtract 2 is what I did. If you subtract 4 you will have a pretty tight strap.

I'm size 8 boot too. I bought the Size Medium - 10" straps. They work great for me. I own OMS Slipstream fins and haven't get any issue with them. You have to get used to them as they are not as tight as the "regular" straps on all fins that are tightened too much.

HARTFORD B Not sure why I got this question as I don't recall posting anything about these springs but I'll try to answer anyway.
Put your foot in the fin and measure from the attachment point on the fin on one side of your foot around your ankle/heel to the other attachment point (from hole to hole, around the backside of your heel/ankle). That's the measurement to subtract two inches from. On my size 12 feet in my fins I measured about 14 inches from pin to pin around the back of my heel/ankle (a little more than that). Sub'd off 2 inches and came out a little over 12 inches, so I bought the 12 inch springs.

If you see the Q&A section, CHRIS D actually answered me first and said I needed to subtract 4 inches, where you are saying 2. Which is it please? I measured 12 inches from attachment to attachment, and I have already placed the order for 8 inches. I hope if it is too small, you will exchange for me, with no shipping charges? Because you both are saying different things.
HARTFORD B Ali, I personally have these and, unless I suddenly got a major brain trauma or just generally screwed up, you subtract 2 inches. I double checked mine before posting. But, no, I won't charge you for shipping on exchange springs and, I'll do you one better, if you get the wrong part, I won't charge you for the wrong part or the proper part to replace them. I won't charge you a thing.

Shopper how do i size for me?
LLOYD C I measured using a cloth measure tape while wearing my dive boot, with foot in the fin pocket, from center-to-center of the mounting posts on the fin. I ordered the closest size to my actual measurement but when I received and installed the straps they were too loose fitting so I returned them for the next smaller size for a firm fit. They are of high quality and when fit properly are a vast improvement over standard original straps that always seem to break at the worst possible time.
JAMES C I wear size 9 boot and use lg fins and use 8" xs scuba spring fin straps. I hope this helps.
MICHAEL J One size fits all-thats the beauty of a spring strap.
EDWARD S A really good questiin and one I cannot answer. I would say it is a matter of trial and error. There are many variables such as how the foot pocket on your fin is designed and which boot you wear with it. Then there is personal preference. Some divers may like them a little loose and others want them super tight. I would say if you have a small/medium/or large foot size start there and try them out. I wear a size 8 shoe but have all three different sizes on different fin and boot configurations. Good luck.
CHRIS D The best way to confirm your size is to take your fin with the rubber strap adjusted the way you like it and measure the strap. You want to measure the button from (under the quick release or retainer) to button.
Let?s say the distance measures 12? from end to end. You will need a 8? strap. The reason behind this is that the buckles to hook the spring on are 4 inches total. So you always deduct 4 inches from the total and this is your spring portion.
Jeff H Will this fin fit the OMS slipstream fin? I wear a size 12 and ordering the 2XL to fit my drysuit boots. What size would I order of these?
ALAN C I have size 3xl Turtle fins and size 12 feet in Diving Concepts drysuit boots. 10" straps fit me perfect. the 12" straps were too loose.
I don't know about the OMS fins sizing...
ARTHUR J I wear size 11 RockBoots, using OMS Slipstream XXL fins. I really like the XS spring straps and have had no issues with them. As for size, the only thing I can go by is they measure approx. 13 1/2 inches end of metal buckle to end of metal buckle, and 12" from end of plastic end to end of plastic end.
WILLINGTON N I don't know Jeff. I used them with Jet Fins and they fit fine with wet suite booties. I could not use them with my DUI Rock Boots through. I couldn't get the strap around the back heal. I'm not sure if OMS fins are the same size as my Jet fins, I've never owned them.

KARYNA A They are springs so there is only one size. They come with different attachments for different fins, I used them on my ScubaPro Jetfins which are similar to the OMS slipstream fin I think and had to drill out the post so I could attach the spring straps so not a "out of the box" experience for me but well worth the extra hassle as they make my fins more comfortable
Shopper What do a pair of these weigh?
JUAN A Z The Q&A tab in the LeisurePro web site shows the fin straps give an approximate weight of 1.5 pounds for two. But this answer is a guess. LeisurePro should weigh them in a mail scale to give you a better result. However, note that the straps come in different lengths so that the weigh, and which attachment is used, will affect the weight. I can't give you the weight because I would have to remove at least one strap, and I dont have a mail scale. Your best bet is to decide which length you will use and which attachment you will use and send an email to the manufacturer, and they should know. You may have to google them. I love my straps, and I don't think they weigh much at all.
KEVIN K I never considered weighing them but my best guess is less then 1 lb easy.
RICHARD J Interesting question that I never thought to check. I'd say "next to nothing" certainly my feet are in the same position in the water as always. Spring straps may be the best invention since the bc! Don't hesitate.
WAYNE M I don't know the exact weight, but my previously slightly positive (10 year old) gray twin jet fins are now slightly negative.
They are great straps though. I highly recommend them.

LeisurePro S To get a good estimation of size for these, you can take your psot to post measurement (ankle to ankle) and then subtract approx. 2 inches. That will land you near the right size.
