ROBERT J Hello... It tappers down to 7mm... The anchor ropes that I had attached it to averaged 12 mm ( the 2nd step up) The item works GREAT... It makes safety stops in strong currents nearly effortless in keeping at a constant depth. I attached a 18 inch cable to the other end and its clipped to my BC... I could Tow a diver or an item with it as well... You might get it to stick to 6 mm rope, but it its your equipment, you can tie two or more knots in a series close to each other and clip in the middle of them.. Good Luck
PHILIP M 6 mm is about 3/16" and both are a slight bit narrower than the narrowest part of the clip's throat, so I would not trust it on a rope of that size if you want it to hold snugly. You could beat it with a hammer to narrow down the throat, but it is a sturdy metal and you would probably be better off with a different clip. I've been very happy, however, with its performance on larger diameter ropes.

The new thigh pocket is just a little bit larger, you can hardly see any difference since most of it was in the side panels. We also added an ingenious way to connect it. Now you can mount the pocket upside down and attach it to tanks if you want to.I changed the elastic length for a better fit on small legsand aluminum 40's while not comprising it for the guys or aluminum 80 cylinders.You can easily add it to a bottle or put it on your leg with very little effort.... more
