Questions about this item:
?a?atay H I have purchased Aeris Air Link with corrugated hose and Dive Alert V2 along with Aeris BC. Unfortunately we were not able to connect DiveAlert to Air Link's corrugated hose; it goes in but does not click, even diveshop could not do it. Apparently, normal rubber hose vs corrugated hose connectors have slight (even eye cannot catch it) differences.
If I change the connector on that corrugated hose with this one, will it work?
Thanks
GREGORY M probably not because you are only converting one end of the connection and you need to have both ends of the Dive alert work with your BC LP hose connections. dive Alert makes various models to work with different BCs, air source, air !!'s etc.
DAVID M The connection on the corrugated hose is a male connection the adapter is female. I would have the male connection changed to see if that would make any difference
?a?atay H David, Corrugated Hose that Aeris Air Link supplied to me has female connector where it suppose to fit male Dive Alert or to the tip of the Air Link itself. Seeing from the picture of this Connector (A138) is a female one, in theory will fit into the male Dive Alert or the Air Link itself.
paul t I have just purchased this item for use on a SeaQuest Air Source and I cannot get it to connect. I have read in another post, that states if the air is on, (system pressurized) it will connect.
Does anyone else have any experiences with this connector?
Has anyone tried the xs SeaQuest connector?
paul t Craig:
ThI appreciate your response. We will contine to fiddle with it a little longer. I believe that this connector may be defective because the part inside does not look centered.
Thanks for your time,
Paul
CRAIG W It did work for me but the fit is poor and required "fiddling"
MICHAEL C I have this connector with my Seaquest Air Source and it connects fine. I have the older Air Source, not the new one which I thinks is the Air Source 2. Good luck
paul t Hey Michael:
This is the older Air Source but we are not having any luck with this connector. Thanks for taking time to let me know that is is working for you. I believe that this particular connector might be defective because we have really tried to make it work.
Have a wonderful safe Labor Day and thanks for your answer.
Paul
paul t I have just purchased this item for use on a SeaQuest Air Source. After attaching it to a new LP Hose, I pulled back the the front of the connector and pushed the coupling onto the plug of the Air Source inflator until it reached the bottom. It will not connect.
I have read that if the air is on the inflator will connect but our air cylinder is off to be hydro tested.
What are your experiences? Does yous connect only with the air on or do I have a defective connector or BC plug? Has any one tried the xs SeaQuest connector?
DAVID M Your connector should go on your air source with the air on or off. It is easier with the air off because you aren't dealing with the air pressure in the connector. Unlike the normal BC hose you don't have to pull back on the connector to put it on the inflator nipple. Just push it on the nipple until it clicks and locks on on. I have 3 of these and they all work as I discribed.
Good luck. Dive Safe See you on the Bottom.
DAVE D I have had problems with both adapters on my sea quest. Currently it does work if you have the air on but this is a XS. I have another one that does not work properly regardless.
paul t Hey Dave:
I believe that I am about at the end of my rope with this adaptor. I am considering trying the XS Scuba conector, but it does not sound like you have the best of luck with that one either.
Thanks for your response,
paul
GREGORY M didn't work for me.
EDWARD S I used mine on an Oceanic inflator with regulator. It snapped in fine.
JAMES H It should connect without being pressurized. Check inside to see that the valve is not stuck or there is something inside preventing connection.
paul t James:
I cannot see anything that would prevent connection. I have tried several times with the air off and with the air on. The internal portion of the connector seems to have movement and not be stuck or frozen. The spring has tension but something is just not right.
Thanks so much for your suggestion.
Paul
Shopper This doesn't just screw in to a standard hose and when I took off the fitting of the old connector there is still nothing to screw this in to. How is this installed exactly? Instructions not included with my delivery.
EDWARD S Mine just screwed into the end of the hose. I bought a hose the same time i bought the adapter.
FRANZ C Well I think there is something wrong with your old hose. You should be able to unscrew the old connector and screw in the new one. The female part of the screw connection should be on the hose and fit the new one. This was the case when I changed the connectors.
MIDWAY P it scres on to second stage low presuare hose but will not work on zeagle octo too small
MIDWAY P I believe it installs on a second stage regulator hose. Also funny you asked . I did not keep all my paper but it will not work on my zeagle integrated octo, it is too small.
WILLIAM B I guess it depends on the bcd hose you have. I didn't have any problems screwing it in, but some bcd hoses do not come with a hose end that can be changed out. If that is the case you will need to get a bcd hose that allows you to unscrew the end.
Walter C IT FITS ON A STANDARD SECOND STAGE LOW PRESSURE REGULATOR HOSE.
Shopper Is this a quick disconnect adapter? I bought a BC over the weekend with a Zeagle Octo + on it but no inflator hose. Now the dive shop wants to fleece me for another $80 for the hose.
Shopper I am just trying to figure out how this would work, with it having the screw portion on one end, where would that part screw into?.
LeisurePro S Any standard Low Pressure hose
