Questions about this item:
Shopper Dear Luna-user,
please say in a few about connectivity of wrist module to transmitter:
- does it easy to pair?
- is it necessary to do each time when the Luna turned on?
- connection foults to number of dives ratio?
Thank you!
RONNIE M I just used mine on 14 dives and never had an issue one. You don't have to pair it but one time then it remembers it until you change transmitters or add another one.
RICHARD K Pairing the wrist computer to the transmitter is a simple process that requires less than a minute and only needs to be done once. It should not become unpaired either during or between dives.
DAVID D Easy to pair, has connected easily and maintained signal throughout my dives. You do not need to pair between dives. Great display too!
RUSSELL F It pairs easily and once paired you are good to go. I have been diving with Uwatec air integrated hose less dive computers for over 10 years and never had an issue with connectivity.
Ellis F YES EASY TO USE, PAIR 1 TIME TO THE TRANSMITTER BEING USED
KEVIN B The Luna is extremely easy to pair.
It will pair itself as the unit is turned on.
Not sure what you are asking on the 3rd question?
STEPHEN S Pairing the transmitter to the computer is very easy. However, you do need to have the transmitter attached to your regulator and a tank since it is only active when under pressure. Once the transmitter is connected, you wake up the computer and hold it within 3" of the transmitter and it will pair automatically. It is not necessary to re-pair the computer each time it is turned on.
I never had any connection faults though it did give me a couple of low battery warnings even though the battery was brand new. That said, I just replaced my older Oceanic VT Pro (which is also a wireless system) with the Luna and have to say it is an great improvement.
WILLIAM F Very easy to pair
Turns on and is paired automatically after the initial pair
Owned for 1 year never a connection problem
STEPHEN K The Luna needs to be connected the first time so it can learn the correct signal number. Afterwards you do not specifically need to connect it - it manages to find the connection when you enter the water. Out of habit it hold the Luna close to or touching the transmitter when I turn on the air source. It seems to connect fine even if you do not do that.
Once in use I have never had any issues with the unit under water. Occassionally a strong strobe will cause it to alarm for a second or two - but does not affect the functioning of the unit. Depending on how you have the Luna setup will dictate how easy it will alarm based on its parameters and your diving technique. It is a great unit - you will be very satisfied with its ease of use and functions.
ROBERT M This computer is the bomb.
The first time i used I did not know it needed to be paired, so there was no connection on the first dive. Took us a few tries to get it to pair. Really simple when you figure it out. Turn on Uwatec first, then open the tank (with reg on), the uwatec should pair right up, if not, turn off and on til it pairs, give it a minute or two.
After the first connection, I never had another connectivity issue.
That being said, on the my second dive I got a warning saying TI-1 Low Battery. The battery is fine, there is a know issue with contacts on the battery. Should be resolved from now on, but I have to send mine in for replacement. A local SCUBAPRO dealer could fix it as could LeisurePro, but I prefer to go to the source.
Enjoy ...
MARK S Very easy to pare No faults so far. Only needs to be re pared when you change batteries. Very happy with tge computer and the freedom of no hose for air integration
SCOTT R It is very easy to pair and only takes a couple of seconds. I do not remember the steps off the top of my head but it was so easy it did not cause any concern. After pairing I have not had to do it again as it does stay paired through power cycling. That being said I also have it paired to my wifes transmitter and unless I am right next to her I often do not get her signal, but we have never had an issue with pairing.
Shopper will this computer allow you to use nitrox without the upgrade? nitrox will be the only gas used. thank you
JOSHUA S Yes it will it's an awesome computer easy to read and learn
JOHN S Yes. You can dial in any nitrox mix (I think up to 50%) without the upgrade. What you can't do, is monitor more than one transmitter (+plus a buddy) without the upgrade.
HILLIARD D Yes you should be able to use for nitrox calculations. I have had my unit since 20010 and have since used it on Nitrox dives in the Atlantic. you can calculate by the percentage Ie.. 22, 23, 24 etc. As long as It states will do Nitrox calculations you should be fine.
KATHLEEN F Works great on nitrox. Easy to set the nitrox level in the computer.
WILLIAM N I don't know what "upgrade" is being referred to, but the computer allowsw for the oxygen percentage to be adjusted up to 50%. It is spelled out in the instructions. Holding the left button dowm takes one directly to the O2 adjustment screen
MARK S Yes. Gas upgrade is for tri mix.
BRYAN C No issues with standard nitrox mixes. I think it only becomes an issue with multiple gases.
STEPHEN K The basic unit handles a single mixture of nitrox. The upgrade allows for multiple mixes on same dive so that you can off gas faster during ascents.
WILLIAM F Yes, right out of the box. My wife and I both have them, bought them from LeisurePro, and are awesome.!!
FIREBRAND T yes it is nitrox compatible as sold
Shopper Hi, besides English, does the computer support other language like chinese?
Thanks
Ed
MARK S Ed
It supports German French and Italian in addtion to Engclish.
Mark
ANDREA M I'm really not sure. I didn't check through the language settings. I'd say the fastest way to find out would be to call or email UWATECH.
Shopper Does Luna allow you to input your dive plan and help you plan your surface intervals and maximum depths?
Brett H Yes, the Luna does have a full dive planner that you can use before your dive and on surface intervals to plan your next dive.
Shopper Can you upload the dive log also to a Mac computer?
Ellis F I am sorry I cannot help I do not know about the Mac comp.
Shopper I have recently purchased this computer and it came with a stickey back clear plastic , what is this clear plastic for ? Is it a magnifer or lens protector? The instructions does not say
WILLIAM N I had the same question. The computer has a hard plastic protector in place. I guess you could use the tape- backed one on that to keep it from being scratched. That is what I will do. After my first 2 week trip with the computer, the plastic did get scratched.
JOHN S It's just to protect the screen until the user gets it. Like on the LCD screens of many cameras. Take it off and throw it away.
You DO have the clear hard plastic insert in front of the actual display on the computer, though, right. Those can be replaced (for a few bucks) if they get scratched. If you scratch the actual display, it's permanent, and could lead to failure of the computer.
BRYAN C It is only a protector for the screen.
DANIEL B It is indeed a screen protector. Be careful putting it on, it is very sticky
ANDREAS B It is just an extra lens protector, i put it on mine but soon removed it because it started to get water underneath it. If i was to do it again id leave it off. I have about 30 dives on it so far and it started around dive 20. Hope this helps...
Good luck and safe diving. Andreas
JUSTIN C The only clear plastic that my Luna came with had 4 little tabs that would slide into the top and bottom of the screen - acting as a screen protector. Hopefully this is what you're talking about...
STEPHEN K I do not remember the sticky back plastic coming with mine. It would not be for magnification. The view is slightly magnified anyway from the water. So I suspect it to be a lens protector particularly if it is the size of the screen. I don't know how well it would stick or stay clear in the salt water. On mine I used the accessory plastic lens protector you can buy that snaps in place - which works well. This is a great unit - you will enjoy it !
Ellis F can an I dive 3 bottles with 3 diffrent transmitters , 3 diffrent mixs?
JUSTIN C Yes, you can run three different transmitters with 3 different gasses, with two exceptions. First you will need to get the Predictive Multi gas algorithm option (license key). (The Galileo Sol comes with this enabled). You also must dive your mixes in order of lowest to highest oxygen percent.
for example, Tank 1 @ 28%, Tank 2 @ 50%, and Tank 3 @ 100%. The computer will keep track and tell you when to switch, it's as simple as confirming the switch with button press. Be aware in the above example, the computer will not allow Tank 2 @ 100% and Tank 3 @ 50%, just a big deal but can catch you if you not careful.
CLIFF C Not out of the box but you can buy the update at the same time you buy the extra transmitters. My buddy uses accelerated deco with a richer gas in this way with the Luna.
Google "predictive multi-gas update." I'm not sure if LP has the updates available.
CHRIS H Yes....but its no easy task. Once set up though your ready to go. i love this computer. I would recommend this computer to anyone. I am an instructor and feel like this is the only computer for me.
CHRIS W Ellis,
I am courious as to your inquiry and possible use in that manner. I have been usint the Luna for a short time and know how the system works.
The transmitter connects to your regulator 1st stage high pressure port. An additional transmitter can be added to another regulator high pressure port and trained to read on the Luna receiver as T2. It is considered by all means to monitor your dive partners tank pressure reading and nothing more will be given.
You cannot change your Luna during a dive from one transmitter to another. You can though in a repetitive dive scenario modify the o2 levels then go to the dDive Planner and it will then take that info into consideration for the next dive.
If you are planning to use to extend bottom time use a dual tank manifold and double up. Then if additional air is still required for safety stop hang from boat with another simple regulator setup with pressure guage & bottom timer / watch. This time on the safety stop will not be counted on the Luna so you are going to have inaccurate readings on dive computer from that point forward. Not something that an inexperienced or very advanced level diver should attempt.
So if all you want to do is modify gas levels from one dive to another no additional transmitters are necessary.
But if you are going for extending depth and increasing bottom time it might be time to look at rebreather systems (Poseidon).
Hope this helps!
Chris
PADI DM-62977
ALEXANDER Y No cant dive 3 bottles
Galileo Luna reads only 2 bottles with 2 different transmitters
EDWARD D According to the instruction manual, page 14, you can only pair with two tanks, yours, labelled T1 and your buddies, labelled "Buddy"
WILLIAM N Sorry,
I can't answer the question. I have no experience with the situation Ellis asked about.
Bill
JOHN S Yes. The computer will monitor gas pressures from three bottles. However, if you want it to compute the correct remaining bottom time or decompression obligation, you need to purchase and install the predictive multi gas upgrade via SMARTRAK.
MIKE B No, the computer is only capable of picking up signals from 2 different transmitters.
KEVIN B Hi you would be able to dive with 1 other transmitter or another tank. This would show up as a buddy tank. The unit that will allow you to dive with 3 other tanks and 3 different transmitters is the UWATEC Galileo SOL.

Shopper Can you upload the dive log to your computer?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Luna uses the infrared SmartTrak system for downloading dives to your PC. It can be found here.
Shopper Does the Luna support nitrox mixes?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Luna is able to handle Nitrox mixes from 21-100%.
Shopper Will the digital compass work in both hemispheres of the world?
LeisurePro S Yes, digital compasses can be recalibrate whenever you are in a new part of the world.
Shopper Does this include the retractor clip so you can mount the computer to a retractor on your bcd?
LeisurePro S Yes, the retractor clip is included.
Shopper Can I change battery myself?
LeisurePro S The batteries can be changed by the user. Here the battery for the Galileo Luna.
Shopper Do i have to change any settings while diving at altitude?
LeisurePro S No, the Luna has automatic altitude adjustment.
Shopper Do you have the transmitter available for purchase separately?
LeisurePro S So sorry, unfortunately we don't sell the Uwatec transmitters on their own.
Shopper Does this unit have a user replace battery?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Luna wrist unit and transmitter both have user replaceable batteries.
