Questions about this item:
Shopper I where a size 10.5 to 11 mens shoe. Should I get a regular or xl size fin ? I will be wearing a 3 mil bootie.
BRIAN X I wear an 11.5 shoe and an xl fits perfect. these fit better so I'd say and xl. B. xavier
TIBOR T Sizes differ by manufacturer. Best bet is to bring your booties into a dive shop and try on fins with the boots you are using.
KIM J I would go with the regulator.
Shopper I bought the regular sized fins based on the size guide. I'm an 8.5 (women's size), but when I got the fins and tried them on with my booties, there was a big space the top. It doesn't seem that it should be a problem, but I have to pull the straps all the way to the end to make sure the fins fit snug. It feels comfortable, but I'm not sure what it's going to be like in the water. Should I be getting a Small instead?
RALPH W A lot depends on the boots you are using. For example, I wear a men's 9.5 sneaker, but I dive cold water with a drysuit so I use the large fins and they're still snug. (For warm water diving I deliberately bought booties with the chunkiest sole I could find so I could use the same fins)
It sounds like you are between sizes, so you'd really have to try both and then decide. See if LP is willing to send you a second set first and then let you return the ones you don't want, rather than sending these back.
Having to tighten the straps all the way is not a problem. The main thing is the fit inside the pocket. Try them on in your living room and have a friend stand on the fin tips. Then see if you can wiggle your foot side to side in the fin pocket. If you can, they are too loose.
As you gain experience, you'll find you do most of your "steering" under water with your fins. You can use a slight side to side motion of the fins to move your head around when looking into holes & cracks in the reef. If the fin wobbles on your feet, it will rob you of a bit of power, but even worse your fine positioning will be clumsier than it needs to be.
JOHN L the way you describe it seems they are a size too big.. go to a local dive shop and try on some fins and see what size you need. i do not pull my straps all the way in to fit snugly. and my foot also fits snugly inside even without the heel strap connected.
ALFRED K You should get a smaller size. I almost always wear booties with my fins, even if it's warm water, just so they don't give me a blister. But sometimes I forget them and I can cinch them down and they still fit. It sounds like you are at the end of the usable size range, think about if you forget yours or ever buy thinner booties, they what? LP has a good exchange policy, they will send you the smaller ones, just wait until you get them before you send back the mediums, then keep whichever is better. They might want a deposit or something, but they will refund it, and likely even ship for free.
If you have any other questions let me know Alfred at forum.dk
Good luck
BARBARA S The smaller size fin also has a smaller blade. The larger blade will give more thrust, however, you may have more fin than you are used to and will get leg cramps in consequence. If you are used to a bigger fin or have not used fins much you will get used to them and not have trouble, I think. My sister has used both sizes and feels more comfortable with the smaller blade of the small size fin. The smaller blade to me just feels too small so I prefer the larger blade. If your foot feels comfortable and does not slide around in the foot pocket then stick with the larger blade.
Allison S Hi! I'm a women's size 6.5 and plan on wearing these with 3mm size 5 mens dive boots with rubber soles. What size would be most appropriate? Does the size chart take into account wearing boots?
ALFRED K Since they are open heel a wide range of sizes should fit. I would get a small.
BARBARA S I am sure they accomodate boots. I think you will want the small size. My sister uses the medium size and wears a slightly larger shoe size than you.
TIBOR T All manufacturers size differently. The most advise given is to take the boots to the store with you and try them on.
JOACHIM M I am a men's size 8.5 and wear dive boots (dry and 5mm wet) with the TUSA size small. Fits perfectly. If you are at 6.5, small will do for you.
Jon K How long are these fins in comparison to the SF 6?
EDWARD H Sorry:
I bought and gave these fins as a gift. If I were shopping for myself, I would be buying the SF15, which I have heard great reviews from a lot of the divers at my local dive shop
BARBARA S i don't know anything about the "SF 6" - sorry, however I can tell you that the blade length varies with the size (small, medium and large) of the fin.
CHRISTINA S These are the only fins I've ever owned. They work great, my main problem was needing ankle weights for diving because these are positively buoyant.
Kevin N I wear size 10.5 mens shoe, and will be wearing these with size 10 Tusa Imprex 3mm dive slipper. What size?
TODD A I wear a size 11 DeepSea 5mil boot and have large fins. I see that the size chart uses medium for 7-10. I would guess the large fins for you. I believe Leisure pro does their size assurance so either way you can send them back with no charge if they do not fit. I really like this fin and this is my second pair after wearing out the first pair.
TRACY C I also wear a 10.5 men's and purchased the large size fin, which fits comfortably with my dive shoes.
KARYNA M Well, I bought small because I use 5,5 women shoes. Considering the Tusa table (click size chart, close to "choose size" below) you can buy the regular, because it fits to 10 men?s size.
TUSA IMPREX (SF-9900) (SF-7700) (SF-8800)
SIZE MEN SHOE SIZE WOMEN SHOE SIZE
SMALL Up to 6 Up to 7
REGULAR 7-10 8-11

Shopper will abbyss drysuit boots fit in these pockets?
JOACHIM M Unless the abyss drysuit boots (which I am unfamiliar with) are substantially different in shape and design from other rock boots, I'd say don't worry. I dive the small Imprex fins and my boots fit just fine.
STEVEN S Not sure about the abyss boots but I was given a pair of 5mm Titanium boots for Christmas last year and the toe cap would not fit into the pocket of the Tusa fin.
RICHARD S I wear size 11 shoes and have bear drysuit boots and I can squeeze them into the XL Imprex that I have. not the most comfotable but possible. Definately buy the largest size you can get if these are primarily going to be used with drysuit boots. but if you are bigger than size 11 shoes, i would say no to your question.
HECTOR O I would not use with a dry suit. They probably are too soft. Scubapro jets would probably be best or something harder.
Shopper Are these good for snorkeling with no boots?
MICHAEL W These fins would not be good for snorkeling with out booties you'll definetly need at least a pair of 3mm booties with these fins
ALFRED K Yes, but you have to size them correctly or they will flop around and rub on your heel.
If you plan to have them off and on lots (i.e. more than one person using them, kids, multiple locations like on a tour) or warm water where you would use a thin dive sock or nothing that would be the way to go.
Closed heel is better where I live(northern CA) since the water is very cold so I wear a thick boot and heavy gear(less in and out of the water) and we have lots of kelp up here(gets stuck on the buckles of open heel fins).
Hope that helps!-Al
TIBOR T Open heel fins are not good for anything without boots. They will cut up your feet causing very large blisters. It happened to some one I was diving with. Get either a set of boots, they are very inexpensive, or, if all you do is snorkel, buy full foot fins.
CONNIE O They would not fit very well since the foot pocket is designed to accommodate boots. Aqualung Hot Shot is a travel fin that has the same type of foot pocket with adjustable straps that is made to be worn with bare feet.
SUSAN M I have used these fins for 10+ years for scuba diving and love them. But always with boots. If you are only going snorkeling, I suppose they would work fine without. May want to give some neoprene socks just for comfort (small amount of rub all fins have) and walking in the surf, beach, etc. All in all these are comfortable. For more power/high current situations, I do use a higher level fin thou, but you should not need for surface/short dive snorkeling. Good luck.
RICHARD H I would not wear these without boots. My son tried to once and ended up with sore feet.
CHRISTINA S I have not tried them without boots, they fit well over boots, so they might be big without any. They would be perfect for snorkeling though, I bought them for scuba diving and struggle with how positively boyant they are.
HERBERT B I don't know, they were only used once on a scuba trip about 6 dives and were only used with boots.
RONALD W I wear a pair of footie socks with mine because they are a little to big bare footed. I bought mine for diving with boots, but they work fine with the footie socks.
ALFRED B Yes i have used them with and without boots
DEBRA S from personal experience with all fins, boots make them more comfortable! So yes, boot are recommended!
TERADON C That is how my wife has used them. She doesn't own boots and these never gave her any issues.
Shopper Buoyancy - positive or negative?
LeisurePro S These are positively buoyant.
Shopper I wear a 10 in shoes but my diving boots are a size 9 with a hard sole, Regular or Xl
LeisurePro S Regular would be the best fit.
Shopper I am a women who wears a size 8 shoe, but will be wearing booties like the water sock kind. Should I order a small or regular size?
LeisurePro S If the sock really is just a very thin sock, I would go with the small. If you get them and find that your heel sticks out so much that the back of the fin is in the arch of your foot, I would go up to the regular. But I think a small will be okay.
Shopper What range of boot/feet sizes will fit into a size Reg fin?
LeisurePro S A regular fin fits appx. a 7-11 (mens)/5-9 (womens).
Shopper how long are these fins. would like to order snorkel gear bag to fit.
Shopper Are these suitable for use without boots?
LeisurePro S For use with boots only.
Shopper I wear a size 11.5 shoe, should I order a x-large pair of fins? I will be wearing booties
Shopper How heavy are these fins? Would you consider this a small full foot fin?
LeisurePro S They weigh 5 lbs, and are available in 3 sizes
