Dmitri P What is the maximum size of the Chest Mount Harness? Do I fit in size SPARE AIR Chest Mount Harness, if my breasts are 45 inches and I use 9mm thick suit, and also using the Omer Sub Weight Harness?
Also the question of the use SPARE AIR in cold water. What is the minimum temperature of the water in which you can use SPARE AIR?
I wanted to clarify a possible situation "free flow"..
Michael C Yes it should fit, it is adjustable around the chest with velcro straps. It may be a bit tight with both the weight harness and wetsuit.

Well you COULD Velcro it to your leg, but WHY?? The beauty of the little vest is that the mouthpiece is just below your jaw. You can grab it with your teeth at any time. ...See a big Grouper, or a cute groupie below you,take a breath, spit out your snorkel, grab the SpareAir and go down for a Kodak moment.
It is NOT a scuba, so stay shallow....clean hulls, retrieve tools at the Yacht club.....Plan to refil often, if you use it as a regular piece of kit.

20' is perfect...think about it....take a surface breath...dive down..spend 20 sec...take a Spare Air breath...spend 30 sec...take a SpareAir breath, ascend. No time for any decomp.
I bought one of the 13 cu.ft cylinders from Leisure Pro to use as my refill tank... 10-12 fills. SO FAR, the dive shop fills it for free...
I HOPE those are not Maine Lonsters, or the SpareAir my only last 20 Sec...BRRRRrrrrrr.

DOUG D Yes, but you must discharge all of the air and remove the cap. You will have to refill it at your destination.
HENNY B Yes, No problem. I take mine on commercial fights all the time. The only thing you need to do is empty the air from the cylinder.

Yes you may, but DOT regulations require that it be empty and the top removed (in this case, the Spare Air's regulator assembly), so that security can inspect the inside of the cylinder to verify that it's empty. Once you've arrived at your destination, just screw the top back on and fill it.

JIM J Yes, you can take this on an aircraft, in your checked luggage. You will need to empty the tank, and then REMOVE the valve, and place in seperate clean zip bags. The TSA inspectors can then look inside the tank, and see that it is empty. If you leave the valve on the tank, it will be confiscated. Do not carry this in your carry on bag, as it will create hassles.
KEITH C Yes indeed. However the cylinder must be empty and the top of the cylinder removed. With the included adapter, you can simply fill the spare are when you arrive off a regular scuba cylinder.
AL B Yes, you can take the spare air on a commercial flight. There are several rules the TSA has in regard to carrying the unit on board. Check outthe spareair website and look under frequently asked questions/traveling and it tells you everything you need to know about how to travel with the unit.

Ramon R how long will it last from moment of use ?
AL B In a pool at a 12 ft depth I get close to a minute of breathing at a conservative pace. I use it for bottom pool work and cleaning and can sometimes get longer than that. Deeper depths = much shorter times.
CHRIS A I just used it last week and its good for three solid breaths at 3000 psi.
Ramon R I need something in situations like this: I'm on a ferryboat, it sinks with evryone on board. I'm a good swimmer, but I need something for breatrhin underwater, until I find a way to get out to the surface. The longer the better. I cant bring a tank for obvious reasons.
JOHN S in theory, we breathe about 1 cubic foot of air per minute at sea level. This one should give you one minute close to the surface. As you go deeper, air compresses, so your time shortens with depth. If you are a surf- kayaker, it's great....you are near the surface. If you plan on going below 30', it's not your best backup.
