Questions about this item:
Brandon R i am 11 would these be good without a weight belt also can they go in an integrated bc ?
ROBERT S These would not be good for what you want. These work great if you need to add a small amount of weight to your lower body to help with body position. My wife uses these to help keep her feet poiunt down during her safety stops
PEDRO LUIS T They might feel lose on your ankles. I don't really like them that much.
Stay with a weight belt, that you can release with easy.
I bought the weight to compensate my long fins but they move to much on my ankles.
AUDREY P Hi Brandon
Yes, these ankle weights work well with keeping me down since I usually tend to rise to the top. I am sure you can find a place for them in your bc if you decide not to use them. Hope this helps
LARRY M No. You still need to wear some sort of ditchable weight. As far as going into a weight integrated BCD, use soft weights. The shape of these would not work well.
IRENE L You can wear them without a weightbelt safely...i just think it is a question if you will have enough weight to still stay negative with the ankle weights alone. And sure you can put them in an integrated bc, if they fit. But you are probably better off buying weights that would fit in the weight pockets better...good luck!
FRANK W I don't think that these would be a good substitute for a weight belt even for a child. I use them with a weight belt because they seem to help me get down quicker when free diving/spear fishing. Don't know about using them in an integrated BC?
JOSEPH R I would not suggest diving without a weight belt under any circumstances. The ankle weights are meant to add weight to help keep your legs down if you wear cold water suits that will make your legs buoyant and float them over your head.
They could potentially be put into integrated weight pockets, but again, I would not recommend it. If you don't want to buy molded weights, you can buy pouches that have loose lead shot in them. But I would suggest only using the ankle weight for their intended purpose in addition to a weight belt or BC integrated weights.
CHIAYING L The ankle weights help to balance the buoyancy at the lower body. It is not to replace the weight belt. If I have 5 lbs on the weight belt (or integrated BC pocket) originally, then I will reduce weight belt to 3-4 lbs when I put the ankle weights on.
Also, the ankle weights can be easily put into the integrated BC pocket. My best suggestion is to play it around to test if you like it before you dive too deep.
ARTHUR F Since you are 11 I would not recommend that you use these instead of a weight belt. The reason I would not is because you would constantly have your feet pulled downward by the weights and probably would not be able to swim efficiently. Yes, these could be used in an integrated BCD but there are cheaper solutions available for that purpose.
JASON S You can wear these any time. They can be worn to lessen the weight on a belt or eliminate the belt altogether. The only problem is that you no longer have the capability to quick release your weights in an emergency ascent situation.
These can be used as soft weights in a BC also. I personally only wear them when Dry suit diving. They are a must as they help keep your feet lower to help prevent inverted ascent and suit inflating uncontrolably while rising in the water column.
Good Luck
Shopper What are the lengths for the regular and long? Hard to make a choice if you don't know the dimensions.
LeisurePro S Regular 11" long and Long 14" long and both will strech 4 inches longer
Shopper What are the weights filled with? Are they adjustable? I need them for my daughter to learn to walk without a brace. She needs weights to keep her legs from floating when attempting to walk in the pool without her leg brace. How do I know which weight to order (3 lb or 9 lb)?
LeisurePro S The weights are filled with Lead shot , They are not adjustable but they stretch. These will help her, but you should consult your doctor.
