J A does this interface updates the D6 software, if there is a new update from suunto?
MICHAEL M AFAIK, the D6 is not customer-upgradeable (unlike newer Suuntos such as the Ambit). In fact, for the D6/D9 recall in July 2006, units had to be returned to the manufacturer for the firmware update. In my experience, the interface can only be used to download dive logs from the watch to the PC.
ROBERT M No. This interface s only used for downloading dive data to software such as DM4 and MacDive.
You must send your dive computer to an authorized Suunto service center for updates and repair.

BRIAN R I've only used this on my D4 but all of the D4, D6, D9 including i and tx appear to have the same connector so I believe it should work on your D6i.

Tom S Not familiar with Stinger. It does work well for my D6, but is different than the one used for my Mosquito. Should be able to get answer from Suunto.com.

The Suunto PC Interface is for uploading logbook dives to a PC in order to optionally store and organize the data, computer statistics, simulate dives and personalize the logbook file.
