Questions about this item:
Melissa W Female (regular shoe size 9)
What size fin should I get? (I will be wearing a hard sole boot)
BILLY N I wear a mens size 9 hard sole & have the large fins that is very adequate, size wise, with room to spare. The fins, with the constant tension of the spring straps are so much different than the standard style adjustible straps that a little extra room is not felt or a problem. Too tight of a fit would be. I would adjust size selection by mens/womens size 9 difference.
SINH V I am not sure, my boot size is #8 (man), And I am wearing size Medium, a bit too loose, I have to cut the spring shorter, I think you should get size Small, hope this will help
ANDREA C Hi Melissa W,
My shoe size is a 7 1/2 and I have medium sized Bio Fins. I bought them in 2007. I wear boots as well for tropical diving and DUI rock boots for cold water diving. My tropical boots fit just fine, but the rock boots are a tight fit, but still work.
These fins are great, especially with the steel strap. Easy on, easy off.
Hope this helps.
Shopper What size fin would you recommend when used with men's 8 hard soled boots?
BRUCE C I don't know how much help I can provide. Leisure Pro asked for my advice since I purchased Pinnacle Hard Soled Boots and the Apollo C Series through them. I have size 11 hard soles and the Large sized Bio fins. (L)
If I remember correctly from when I ordered them together several years ago, size 11 was on the border between Large and Extra Large. They were a VERY tight fit when I purchased them, which leads me to believe they cater towards the smaller end when between two close sizes.
Mens 7-8 (S) 8-9(M) 9-11(L) 11-13+(XL)
Therefore, If you purchase the small, it will be a VERY tight fit for you. It probably has less likelihood of ever falling off, but it is much more difficult to get on/off in the water (and I felt a bit scared it might break at first due to tension). However, it is very well made, and I have had no issues. If you are on the larger side for shoes (i.e. you wear an 8.5, or might sometimes wear a 9) you may want to consider the Medium.
The other difference is that (L) is a range of three sizes, and (XL) is a range of three sizes. Therefore, the accommodating differential is a lot higher within the larger sizes and may give too much extra space. That was my primary reason in selecting the lower option for my purchase.
Since the other two size variations (S/M) only span a difference of two sizes each, the differences in fit will not be as noticeable.
Go with the medium, and if it feels too loose, send it back in for the small. Leisure Pro has excellent customer service.
Hope I helped.
WILLIAM G That should be a medium. Large starts at size 9. See apollosportsusa dot com for their sizing chart.
DAVE D Not sure on size but I would tend to go bigger than smaller. You want to be able to pop them right of when your getting on a boat or in difficult surf. Love these fins!
DOUGLAS B G WOULDRECOMMEND THAT YOU ORDER A PAIR OF Lg AND A PAIR OF EXTRA LG AND TRY THEM ON AT HOME AND RETURN THE ONES THAT DO NOT FIT. THIS WORKS FOR ME EVERYTIME I ORDER FRM LP. I HAD TO RETURN MINE BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT FIT OVER SEASOFT STEALTH BOOTS SIZE LG (11-12)
JAMES W I wear a 9 in sneakers & hard sole boots (my booties are 8) & my Apollo Fins are a size medium. Hope this helps; they're great fins.
CARROLL M Maybe you can deduce something from our experience. My wife uses a large with her size 9 hard sole boots. This is a little snug but manageable by 1 diver. I use a LL with my size 13 hard sole boots. The fit is so snug that I require help getting the fins both on and off unless I go to a soft sole.
STACEY C My husband wears an 8 1/2 to 9 and the large fit well with the boots.
Ernesto C Good day.. i wonder which size fin should i choice when my normal boot size is 41?
WILLIS R C Size 41 is a European size. I don't know the equivalent US size. I don't know if you use a dry suit or wet suit boots. I use two sizes: one for my wet suit and one for my dry suit with "rock boots." My foot size is a US size 10 EE (double E). I use a size L (Large) for my size 11(for extra socks) Scubapro Rockboots with my DUI dry suit, and size M (Medium) with my wet suit for summer diving.I love the Bio Fins Pro C-Series because I don't get the leg cramps I got with the old style "paddle" fins. They are smoother and faster than the Scubapro Jet Fins. The Stainless Steel Fin Strap is fantastic; there's no more breaking a fin strap on long surface swims, under the ice or on a deeper dive. I also don't catch sea weeds and fishing line like the rubber strap buckles did. I have been diving since 1973 and am 55 years old and a member of a scuba club.
Ernesto C Thks Willis, really appreciate your help.
Take good care and all the best
Ernesto C Thanks, I think so as well, so go for a M. Let s see whats happen.
Take god care
JAY M Don't know. My shoe size is a 43 and I have medium size Bio Fins. Med, should do it for you too. The spring retention helps w/the adjustment in size.
RANDY K A medium should fit you (I wear a 42) but it really also depends on the type of boot you are wearing. I wear a Tusa hightop boot (thicker sole with a reinforced toe) and it fits really well.
Ernesto C Yes, Thanks, i ll go for a M size, I hope this is the right one.
Thanks, and Take good care.
BILLY N I'm not sure what a 41 is in US standard sizing. I wear a size 9 US but went with the large which is a 9-11 I believe because I wanted them to fit my Henderson Gold Core size 9,s, which they do well. A smaller boot/bootie style may have been a little loose so consider the type of boot as my hard sole ones for your fit. Billy N.
Ernesto C Thanks Billi, really nice from you answering. I ll go for a Medium, as i wear a Seac Sub hard sole 5 mm, boot, M.
all the best, take good care
THOMAS D Sorry I don't know what a size 41 boot is. Must not be an american measurement.
Ernesto C this is European siza, thats why we are asking for..
thnks anyway , all the best frd. Take good care
DANIELE PAOLO S I have foot size 41 (european std) and I use 'L' size fins and they fit well. They are superb fins.
Ernesto C Thanks Paolo, reallyt appreciatte it. Take good care and all the best.!!!
JAMES W Small
Ernesto C Really thanks James, Take good care. All the best
Michael R I am a soldier stationed in Germany and I wear European size 42 boots, both hard and soft sole. Will one size of these fins fit over both types of boots?
EDMOND H I can't answer specifically about your boot sizes but I can tell you that the pair of these fins that I bought ran WAY over size for the US size of my boots. ECH
STANLEY S Hi,
Eur 42 is about an 8 1/2 US, which translates to a Medium to Large Bio Fin. That's my size, but I purchased the Large Bio Fin to accept my soled as well as un-soled dive boots. The SS springs keep things in place.
So, I recommend going the size up to a Large, Bio Fin.
-Stan
R J I wear size 42 shoes and boots normally. When I'm diving, I use either hard sole boots or the attached boots on my Viking dry suit. I use the same set of Apollo BioFins fins for both types of footwear. The spring strap allows a fair amount of give, and the foot pocket is pretty generous. As long as you get a size that will allow the smaller boots to fit properly, I would expect that the spring straps will give you enough room for the hard sole boots as well. There will be slightly more tension on the springs, but the hard soles should absorb that, so it shouldn't be a problem.
JOHN A You're kidding me, right? Most humans would convert the size 42 to its American counterpart and use the size chart provided in the website.
Michael R Well, Genius, I am so sorry that my statement before the question could not conform to your liking. Second off that is not even the question at hand. I just want to know if there is one size of the fins that will fit over my hard and soft sole boots, that for your information is 8-1/2, so I do not have to get two pairs.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.
By the way, most "humans" would not be A-holes, so you don't quite fit that description either.
JOHN A I thought you were talking about Army boots, not dive boots.....I thought I was being set up.....HAHAHA..... Well, that's completely different then, NEVER MIND!
Anyway, I use the hard sole dive boots and they matched up fine with the chart. The only caveat with the fins is the spring boot strap. The rubber handle broke on both of mine but they still work fine. In fact, the spring strap is a great idea. In conjunction with that, I've had the fins for 3-4 years now and they are the best fins I have ever owned.
By the way, I loved the A-hole comment. Believe it or not, you are not the first one to direct those words at me.
Enjoy the fins..........
Shopper Are these positive or negative boyant?
LeisurePro S The Bio Fins are negatively buoyant.
Shopper I wear a size 11.5 shoe and a size 10 soft sole boot. What size Bio Fin Pro do you reccomend?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a large for a man and a medium for a woman.
Shopper i'm a petite asian female with a size 7 shoe. what is the right fin size for me in these fins with booties on?
LeisurePro S I would recommend an XSmall.
Shopper I wear a Seasoft Stealth Boot Size 10. My wife wears a Seasoft Stealth Boot Size 6. What size fins should we buy?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a large for you and an xsmall for your wife.
Shopper 1) How much do the fins weigh? 2) I wear a 3mm Henderson insta dry size 10. What size fin should I get?
LeisurePro S These fins shipping weight is appx. 5 pounds. I would recommend the large.
Shopper My question is whether this fin is designed to be worn with booties or not.
LeisurePro S Yes, these fins are meant to be worn with a bootie (all open heeled fins can be worn with boots and some people even recommend boots with closed heel fins).
Shopper 1) What is the main difference between Apollo Bio-Fin Pro XT C-series and Apollo Bio Fin Pro C- series? 2) What size is euqual to LL (I got Appolo fins but lost one fin and need a new pair- because no other fins come close to me Appolo fins - and the only size I can see markt on the one I have left is LL - is that L og XL?)
LeisurePro S The XT fins are made from a stiffer material that will give you more propulsion and force to move through the water. The regular Bio Fin is made from a bendier material that will result in less fatigue. LL is equivalent to XL.
Shopper When choosing a size, which would correspond to a size 11 mens shoe size?
Shopper Regarding the poquet on the apollo Bio pro fins.I wear eee shoes, will this be confortable?
Shopper Is this the same fin as the bio-fin pro? Only difference being the SS strap is included?
Shopper Two questions. 1) Not sure if I am a small or medium with this fin. I wear a 5m henderson stretch boot in size 8. My shoe size is 8.5. 2) What is the difference between this fin and the XT fin?
LeisurePro S 1) You should go with a Medium 2)The XT is stiffer
Shopper I have read that the Apollo fins are very heavy compaired to other split fins. Does the weight effect the performance or the amount of effort needed while diving? Which size would be the best fit for a male with a shoe size of 71/2.
LeisurePro S They may be a bit heavier than the competition, but they are also the highest rated split fin and I can tell you that we sell LOTS of them and our customers love them. They move you very well and are an easy fin to kick, for your shoe size I would look at a small bio fin.
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
RANDY K Best performance ratings year over year. Wanted to try split fins and I went with the best.
KENNETH W My son tried mine and won't give them back.
WILLIAM R Outstanding fin. Works good with current.
DERIN K Fastest fins ever
