ROBERT C I'm only guessing that they're the same battery as they both call for 3.7v and 700mAh. The shape and size of the 1400 is very close to the 1200 so perhaps they kept the same battery.
I could not find a source for the other than LiesurePro (i.e., from SeaLife). Before I spent the money, I'd just give them a call at Sea Life tech support. They are super friendly and will be happy to help you. 856 866 9191
