Questions about this item:
BRIAN B Can this be o2 cleaned for mixes above 40% oxygen?
DOUGLAS G Take it to a professional O2 cleaning service; I cannot think of a reason why it shouldn't be able to be cleaned. More importantly, use of high oxygen concentrations at depth can be dangerous and the effects of combining high oxygen with exercise at depth has not been evaluated (to the best of my knowledge). Unless you are a highly trained and experienced professional diver, you should not attempt mixed gases as you have described.
KEITH H Yes but you need to buy an O2 kit and have it serviced at a Scubapro dealer. Probably add about $100 in cost to the reg. I have two of these configured that way and use on deco bottles.
Marie S Is this for air and nitrox? What is meant by balanced? I saw a question here where someone asked that.
ROBERT M I have used with nitric.
PETER P From the internet:
Balanced vs. Unbalanced - a balanced regulator breathes the same at all depths while an unbalanced regulator is increasingly difficult to draw air from as you go deeper. All balanced regulators compensate for depth by equalizing the pressure on both sides of the air valve to the pressure of the surrounding water. The balanced regulator air valve essentially ?floats? in an pressure chamber.
Air tanks have to be certified for use with NITROX. Any regulator can be used.
LEWIS L Yes, the regulator works with nitrox or air. The balanced part is a feature of more expensive regulators which gives easier breathing. I suggest you seek the advice of your dive instructor, too.
DANNY E Hi yes it ready for nitrox ready up to 40% and what they me by balance If the 1st stage is it balance or not. The mk2 is not a balance 1st stage.
Shopper How well does it preform in cold water?
PETER P Most of my diving is done in the northeast. Water temp vary from early spring until very late in the fall from about 50 F to a hig of almost 70 F. In the time I've used it, it has performed flawlessly. Breathes well. Minimum maintainence.
P
ROLLIN E Don't really know, currently live in New Mexico and just use this as my "swimming pool" regulator. I've used similar regs in Lake Superior where the water temperature was less than 40 F with no problem. What can mess up a reg is cold air between dives, where the first stage can freeze. If you are going to be doing that sort of diving there are special regs (I haven't looked at these for years, but if memory serves that all had Nordic names). If you are diving in cold water and the air temperature is above freezing between dives this should be fine.
JOSEPH F We used it in 60+ feet of water off the coast of Southern California in February and it performed well.
KEN C I have never used it in cold water.
DENISE F We have only used it in warm water. Sorry, I do not know.
Chris R I have used it in Lake Erie at 80 feet where water temp was below 50F with no problems
It is a high quality piece of equipment and I would highly recommend it
ERIC L Sorry... I live in Florida and only dive warm water.
ROBERT M Only used it in warm water where it does really well
manolis p How deep can I dive with this Reg. ?
ROLLIN E To be honest I don't know. I use it as a safe second. It is real popular as a rental and at resort diving sites, so I assume it is good for normal sport diving (100 foot max). Its also been very rugged and reliable for me; I assume that's part of the appeal as a rental.
Skin Diver magazine publishes tests of regulators under extreme conditions. Even mid price and "economy" regulators provided sufficient air at 200 FSW to support moderate exertion. Its pretty tough to buy a reg that won't support normal sport diving. If you are looking for something more aggressive I suggest you start with the Skin Diver reg reviews to find something that has been tested in your anticipated depth range. If you intend to do depths greater than 100 feet on a regular basis I also suggest you get DAN insurance.
SIDNEY F I am certified to 130 feet and I have taken it that far. I have also been in 34 degree water and it did just fine. Great regulator and it has a lifetime warranty no questions asked, but I bought mine through a scubapro dealer, so you might want to check on that. Happy diving.
JOHN P It will go plenty deep enough. I've been to 155FSW with this reg and it performed flawlessly.
manolis p Can you dive to 200 feet deep with this regulator ?
ROBERTA F i have used it to 100 feet
FRANKLIN K i never tried. shouldn't scubapro be able to answer that question best?
DESMOND K have never dove to 200 feet but have been to 140 feet several times with this regulator. There is no difference in the performance of the regulator at 140 feet. The only negative I have found with this regulator is at the surface it does make a little squeak and has a slight vibration when inhaling, this goes away as soon as you enter the water. It is a great regulator for the price, I felt comfortable enough with this regulator that I bought my wife one to replace her old regulator. This was my second Scubapro regulator. My fist I have had for 10 years and it still works great currently mounted on my bailout bottle.
STEPHEN D The Scubapro R295 regulator breathes like a regulator costing 3 times it's price. My wife and I have been using these regulators for three years and have experienced no issues in any conditions. I would make the same purchase again!
DOUG F Yes, this design is foolproof.
Shopper Is it a 200 bar or 300 bar reg?
LeisurePro S This is a 300 bar DIN reg.
Shopper What does it mean to have a "yoke adapter"?
LeisurePro S This is a DIN regulator, with a small screw in adapter that allows the regulator to be used on yoke valves.
Shopper How long is the regulator hose?
LeisurePro S Comes with a 30" hose.
Shopper Will the scubapro DIN converter fit the MK2 ?
LeisurePro S Yes, the converter will work with the MK2.
Shopper Is this nitrox ready? Is this balanced?
LeisurePro S This is Nitrox ready, but is not balanced.

Its standard piston design is ideal for divers who don't want to get bogged down with an overwhelming amount of bits and pieces, but still want the p eace of mind that comes with a sound piece of equipment. This first stage is equ ipped with SCUBAPRO's Thermal Insulating System (TIS), which will keep your firs t stage functioning properly, even in frigid water. The MK2 has one high-pressure port and four low-pressure ports. R295 Second Stage This second stage offers an ideal balance of quality, comfort, and reliability. The R295's downstream valve means you can dive breathing easily - both literally and figuratively. The R295's streamline design, minimal weight, and orthodontic silicone mouthpiece mean jaw fatigue and pain will be a thing of the past. Its streamline shape also means that drag is practically a thing of the past. Just as important as the R295's smooth diaphragm action is SCUBAPRO's guarantee of unsurpassed quality and workmanship.
