JAMES K gloves are durable but articulation can be difficult/ sloppy- even operating a reel can be hard- pretty warm, but overall I would not buy again.
Shopper Would these gloves provide enough protection for lobstering and would they be uncomfortable in warm water?
KOY S Yes it would be great for lobstering.but might be a little warm in warm waters
DALE D These gloves would provide more than enough protection for lobstering. That answer is based on the caribbean rock lobster (warm water...no claws). Also, they would not be uncomfortable in warm water. The only criticism I have about these gloves is they were cut too small. Definitely consider one size larger than your regular size. Leisure Pro has a fantastic return policy both in writing and in practice, so as long as time is not ultracritical, if the fit is not ideal, you can return them. The gloves are a good investment.
Marilyn S For lobstering I'd recommend a glove with kevlar. The XS Scuba 2 mm Kevlar Bug Grabber Gloves SKU: XSSBG http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/XSSBG.html would be protective and comfortable in warm water.
Patti T are these gloves durable and will they hold up for working on wrecks?
CHARLIE M So far they have held up ok. They have strings coming off them now and I have only had them for maybe a year. For the price they are alright but if you are really working wrecks I don't know if they will hold up for you.
JOHN N I used these gloves for an inland commercial diving job. They lasted about two days which is typical for any neoprene gloves used in that industry. I've used just about every brand of glove made, and they just don't hold up to commercial work. If the job doesn't require a lot of finger dexterity you can go to Home Depot, and buy a heavy duty chemical resistant glove (found in the cleaning supply aisle), and wear those over the neoprene glove. Those gloves are extremely tough, but they still melt while using a Broco torch.
EWA W I would recommend these for normal diving but not working on wrecks. The threads wouldn't last long.
HING M These gloves are quite durable and warm keeping and protective while I was using for taking abalone.
KOY S its fairly durable.i rock pick for abs and after about four trips the tips start showing signs of wear
WILLIAM C Working on wrecks......I don't think so. I have a pair and I love them but I guess I'd need to know what you mean by "working". They are durable though but not sure about working
NANCY B They will hold up as good as any. I recommend getting a pair of cheap yard work gloves to wear over top them.
CLYDE H Yes I think they would hold up, I use them diving when I'm gold mining, they take a beating but they are very good gloves.
JAMES K Yes, durable, but bulky and difficult to get on. The wrist strap is also bulky, and accessing gear- even a knife- is not efficient. They are double sealed, and very warm when sealed properly, when not sealed properly, they are not as warm as one would think, and, the neoprene is soft on these, so there is a squishyness to them when they are saturated. If you get a good deal on them, just cut off the writs strap completely, and put dish soap in them before you put them on. But they are not very good.
