Rockdrigo A I Bought a pair of these. They are pretty cool, but, I end up with too much Jaw fatigue. Is it possible that Im using it wrong?? Is there a guide to set the straps up on your face??.
MICHAEL R My OTS came with a REALLY nice DVD. I have dove with the Ocean Reef but, have never owned one. I have not had that problem with mine.
Glenn F Is it possible to communicate w/ someone on the surface (on a boat etc) and what equipment is needed for that? THX
earl w This is a pretty good system for the price. you have to speak slowly underwater for topside people to hear you. We had it down to 40ft. The only really down side to this is you WILL pick up all boat traffic that passes by you in the area. Hope this helps.This looks to be a complete set for this price
KERN O Glenn: A more sophisticated system than the GSM is required. I like their full face masks, but I returned the GSM units as being unintelligible. A "real" system runs about $1000 per diver for the comm units.
Glenn F Thx -- I'm now researching what is the best mask for the money...or rather how much I'm going to spend? I'm new to diving, as in just certified, and thought Ocean Reef was the only choice but now I'm learning about others etc. What advice would you give for the best choices - really just looking for the ability to communicate w/ the surface. THX
STEVE D Yes you can communicate with both other divers in the water and people on the surface with the Ocean Reef GSM Diver unit and the GSM top side unit.
I am the lead diver with West Tennessee Dive Rescue and Recovery and we don't dive without communications

KERN O I made a lucky guess. My feeling is that the large will fit most faces. I bought a small for my son because his face is narrower than mine. The large fits me just fine. We also tried the GSM communication system, which was I felt was very disappointing and has since been returned.. We do like the masks a lot. They seem like a lot to deal with at first and it will take a couple dives for you to get your air consumption down to normal, but having a wide field of crystal clear view, no water and no fog is great. I'm not going back to a regular mask.
