The lightweight harness is intended to be used in conjunction with a weight belt for free diving. It does not replace or substitute a diver's weight belt, but rather reduces the stress on the diver's lower back by replacing some of the weight belt weight on the waist. This is particularly important for diving in colder water where a thicker wetsuit and more weight are normally required.
