Shopper Are the included bookscrews long enough to go all the way through Adapter/Backplate/Wing/IQ Backpack? The book screws I have now aren't long enough to go all the way through the Backplate/Wing/IQ combo.
WILLIAM O Mine came with longer screws that easily accommodated the wing and backplate. I'm not familiar with the way the IQ is used so I can't speak to that. I think the screws are 1 1/4" if I remember them correctly.

GEORGE M Should be OK. If I remember right two lengths were supplied and I used the longer ones. These are not real true book screws with blunt heads on each end. The nut is a WeldNut also called a TeeNut as shown in the OMS 'book screw' listing alone on Amazon. The screw sharp end can stick out and rip something so mine has about 1/4 " sticking out past nut and of course I put it where the tank rides which has a few mm clearance to the tank wall.
Zeagle found a supplier that has real book screws with blunt blind heads on each end, but length needs to be exact for the job with screws butted up tight.
I use a VERY tiny drop of LockTite 242 (blue removable) on all my hardware but be careful as more than a toothpick 1mm tiny drop makes them hard to remove. Try one made up on you kitchen table overnight to judge how small is 'tiny drop'.

Shopper Folks, does this low profile STA have tank band slots? or do will I need to thread bands through slots on the backplate?

BRIAN B Through the backplate, there are no slots on the pad itself.
MICHAEL A The bands are seperate from the adapter. You can thread it through the back plate slots. Or if you have a comfort harness there are slots in the harness.
STEPHEN M The low profile OMS adapter does not have tank band slots. You need a wing with slots so you can put the tank bands thru the back plate. A Halcyon type wing without slots will not work with this adapter.
ERIK S The STA doesn't have tank band slots - you'll need to thread the bands through the slots on the backplate.
GUY M It is held on by the two bolts in your back pack.
The straps go through your back plate and or your BCD.
SCOTT S I doesn't have slots. the bands go through the back plate slots and wrap around the STA. It works well. my tank is very secure.
EVAN B The bands are looped around two PVC pipes that are in sleeves that run vertically. Then there are rubber keepers that attach to the bands and run on the tank side of the vertical PVC members to hold them in place. The bands can slide vertically with ease.
JAMES M No, there are no band slots. You'll have to route the bands under the STA or through the back plate.
Shopper Can this fit on backplates from other manufacturers - say, halcyon and diverite? Thanks in advance.
GUY M Yes, even if you have to drill one more hole it will do a great job.

JASON B Yes, the unit works great with my Zeagle SS backplate. The mounting holes are standard distance and should work with any brand. The only draw back is that it does not provide as much clearance between the bladder and the first stage (then again I am diving the new Zeagle 65lb 360). Smaller bladders or wings should not have this issue. If you are looking at weight, Oxycheq has a travel adaptor, otherwise stick to the SS tank adapter esp. if it's an aluminum backplate and your trying to add weight. Hope this Helps!
WILLIAM O I have this on my OMS backplate, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't fit on any standard backplate from Halcyon or Dive Rite. It attaches via long bookscrews to the center slots on the backplate. The tank bands are fed through the existing tank band slots on the backplate. As long as you have center slots and tank band slots it will attach just fine.
ERIK S I use this adapter with an OMS backplate however the distance between the mounting holes on the adapter is 11" so as long as the backplate you're using has an 11" spacing between the mounting holes I'd go ahead and order.
ASHTON H Yes, it should fit another backplate. While the designs can be slightly different the function of the backplate is still the same. Therefore there will always be holes for screws and slots for adaptor and cam bands. I bought the OMS backplate and Adaptor to have continuity and have been satisfied everyday since the purchase.
