Questions about this item:
Shopper Would this be acceptable for a recreational use BCD?that can dual purpose as a rescue BCD? I'm 5'10", 175, what size would you recommend? Medium?
PRINCETON F Our dive team purchased one about 2 months ago. We are very pleased with this BCD. We have a wide variety of sizes on our team so we bought a XL. Also wanted it a little big to wear a dry suit under. I am 5'8", 170 and I think a Large would be a good size for me personally.
Frank L Sure, it can be used for both.
SHANE T I would use it for both, as long as it's always ready for rescue. I would get a large if I were you, they're very adjustable. I'm 5'11" and 185, a large is perfect for me. This BCD is my favorite of the 4 I own, great price, great BCD.

Shopper Is this a back inflation or a jacket or a combo of both? Also is it made of a heavy material, I found the OMS featherlite to be somewhat thin material
EDWARD J The backplate and side pockets inflate for a snug fit also I have not has this item very long but the material seems very durable to me all your weight pockets are on the sides so I recommend you get a tank weight for rear balancing they are not too expensive but I really like this BC.

CORD L The Rapid Deployment BCD is a full 3 sided inflation unit. Left and Right side wrap around inflation, with a full back inflation unit. It is very heavy cordura nylon, built with the public safety divers needs in mind. This unit is heavier in build than my sherwood Avid unit. It is set up as a rapid deploy rescue unit and functions very well.

This new single cylinder OMS_ RDS BC (Rapid Deployment System) is suitable for use in recreation diving, rental operations and search and rescue.
