Shopper Has the battery closure changed since the VTPro? The battery in the VTPro is very hard to change because it's difficult to tell whether the locking ring is seated properly. While the VT4 sounds great, if it has the same type of closure, I'm less excited about it and I'd probably make sure to have the battery professionally replaced, which contradicts the purpose of a "user-changable" battery.
Joe S I recommend that you always have a dive shop replace the battery for you. THis makes them responsible for doing it correctly.
The battery cover was fitted better so it is much easier to replace when changing the battery.

KEVIN G No. Greet computer for nitrox with multiple gas bottles. I use it with a 28% main bottle , 50% deco bottle with 100% safety deco.
Shopper I know that the best use of the computer is with a transmitter, but I would like to ask you if will work the computer without a transmitter?? I mean, will the computer get approximate calculations and data from the deep and dive time (and maybe other variables)??

KYLE S Sure! You should be able to set it in "free" mode and it will display depth, dive time and water temp. This is my second oceanic - lost my VT3 sadly - and I love this one. Great interface and much easier to use than the VT3. I would fork out the bucks and get the whole deal though. There are much, much cheaper options you can get that will give you depth, temp and dive time.
JESSE M Yes, the computer will work fine and do everything but monitor your air. Depth, time, nitrogen load, etc still works.
Shopper Can you use the transmitter from an Aeris T3 on this, or will only an Oceanic transmitter work? How about the Aeris (T3) computer cord?
I damaged my T3 computer, and I am thinking about a replacement.

JESSE M I am pretty sure oceanic only has one transmitter for all their current computers. I know I am using my VT3 transmitter with my VT4.
