Brad C I want to mount this computer in a console I already have. Can I pop the computer out of the console it comes in? If so, what are its dimensions?
ERIN B No, it's a fixed configuration made to clip on a BC or other D-ring, not made for any type of console mount.

David L 1. Yes it starts automatically at 5 ft after 5 seconds.
2. I haven't tried the altitude feature but the manual says it adjusts to the altitude 1000 ft at a time as long as is not wet.
JUDD C The BUD will activate on contact with water (when water bridges between the button and the case).
The BUD does automatically adjust for altitude (it will operate up to 14,000 ft).

ALEXANDER O I use it in recreation only with Suunto Viper. Everithing is fine, pretty comfortable. The indications always the same (safety stop, max. deth time, deco limits). I think not bad for back up comp. For tech diving (depends of deth)- I m not sure - the best way is to consult your instructor.

Shopper why is this considered a "Back Up" computer, can it be used for your main computer? What is it missing that a primary computer includes?
Brett H It is designed to be used as a backup because it is adjustable to read close to just about any dive computer that you may already own and it has a few less features than you will find on other computers. Mainly it does not have an audible alarm and it is not downloadable to your home pc. That said, could you dive with it as your only dive computer? yes you could.

Choose Pelagic DSAT for liberal recreational diving. The Pelagic DSAT Algorithm safely maximizes dive time for repetitive, multi-level recreational diving. This algorithm relies on the human Doppler studies used to develop PADI's Recreational Dive Planner (RDP), and has been the basis of Oceanic's and other manufacturer's computer algorithms for many years. Choose Pelagic Z+ for more conservative recreational diving. When applied to standard recreational diving, the Pelagic Z+ Algorithm basis increases the conservative factor of the Veo by 15-20 %. .The large easy to read display makes monitoring your dive profile quick and reliable. Computer can aid nitrox diving up to 50%, has a safety stop count down, conservative factor setting, adjustable units of measure, time to fly/desaturation and has a long life user replaceable battery. A universal clip for attachment to your equipment is also provided. As with all Oceanic computers the new B.U.D. comes with a 24 month limited warranty.
